    I got my Kross in the mail from Sweetwater about a year ago now and am confident in saying that for 700, there is not a better keyboard on the market. If you run out of features to manipulate, or feel as though you don't have enough tools to work with in this device, it may be that you have run out of creativity. If the extensive line up of instrument synths weren't enough, Korg threw in an arsenal of crisp drum and rhythm samples to really flesh out any ideas you may have on the fly or in the studio. It's durable, well thought out, and maybe most important, it's splendidly portable. The thing barely has a weight compared to most keyboards that could do what it does, AND you can pop in some batteries for powered play if there isn't an outlet nearby. Very impressed, and as always, Mr. Michael Eads was extremely helpful in getting me set up and situated.

    Krog Kross Workstation: The best entry level purchase.

    Every home studio should have one.
    The 61 Keys fits perfectly on most desktop.

    The sound is where the "WOW" factor comes into play;
    You can get synced with the tones of all your favorite music.
    (no matter what genre you favor)

    The Kross is ideal for the one man band, a solid time keeper with
    a rich sound bank to fill your composition with a full line of accompaniment.

    I can customize my own backtracking sessions and work on a specific scale and/or mode at will.

    This one is a keeper

    After lugging around big 88 key pianos and trying my hand at using my Mac as a module I decided I wanted a lightweight keyboard with bread and butter sounds that could at least be a decent gigging keyboard, enter the korg kross. This thing does it all and surprisingly well, plus if you need a battery powered keyboard, this one is probably your only option being that the mx61 isn't battery powered. Some people complain about the keybed action, but I can play from ppp to fff with ease which is something I can't say for all the pianos I've owned. The one thing that did disappoint me was the looper wasn't realtime, that would've made this a slam dunk, but if you're looking for an all around solid keyboard with tons of extras look no further.

    This keyboard will exceed your expectations.

    While I wasn't sure what to really expect until I had a chance to play it; Korg exceeded my expectations and then some... There is a lot more power in this lightweight board than what you would expect & at this price-point, it cannot be beaten. Within 20 minutes I had gone through half of the voices, chosen 3 that really spoke to me, & recorded a bass-line into the sequencer; within 20 minutes (and after only browsing through the getting started manual). Do not be fooled: this is more than just an entry-level keyboard; even if the price tag tells you otherwise.

    I bought this Korg Kross 61 because I needed a portable keyboard and this one works on batteries. If the sounds are no good I still could connect a module or an I pad. Surprise, surprise, no need for anything else. This baby has great and very usable sounds and beats many other workstations I have used that cost more. I made a great buy and I'm just scratching the surface on this thing. Very, very pleased.

    Best keyboard in it's price range.

    I love the sounds on this keyboard. My only issue is that it's a bit hard to learn. Everything from adding effects to saving and loading is semi difficult and takes some menu diving so be prepared. I am glad I bought it, studio quality sounds. I especially love the drum and organ sounds. Great piano and bells as well, all the sounds really are great aside from the basses, not too impressed with them, though there are a few good bass sounds. Overall I would highly recommend. Buy it already!!!

    Not Impressed

    Not only am I unimpressed, I am quite disappointed. Perhaps if Korg had their Yosemite drivers in order I would have a better outlook. Hey Korg, all the kids are into to these new things they call computers, I think they are really going to take off. You might do well to be sure your products integrate with them. Maybe in new and innovative ways (profound idea I know). Especially, since your advertisements seem geared to that demographic. Outside of that, it is very light, very portable, and very similar to same thing they were selling 30 years ago. Which would be fine if the were selling Les Paul's. Yawn!
