Great pedal!!!

By Craig Coleman from VA on February 7, 2023 Music Background: Semi-pro Church

So glad I got this I was a little worried about the feel of the pedal but it's responsiveness is really top notch. Great job Roland I'm liking this a lot!! Thanks to Sweetwater for having it in stock!!!

Love the fact that it's chainable

By Kevin Scullin on March 25, 2022

This is a great beaterless kick pedal, which is the perfect addition to my TD-1K. I live in an apartment, and keeping the noise to a minimum is paramount with my drum kit. This upgrade allowed me to chain the kick pedal that came with my TD-1K to the kick trigger input so I could have a beaterless double-kick setup with minimal ambient noise.

Crazy Good

By Steven Hiers from Catawba, SC on February 17, 2022

I have never played an electronic pedal that was as fast an acoustic bass drum until this one - never. Not crazy expensive, great spikes to keep it in place and stupid compact. I like it better than the than Roland's full size electronic bass drums...

Amazing feel. Just want to play it all day

By John Harris from Fremont, CA on December 9, 2021

Literally, I have it next to my computer and I kick it while I'm working from home. The things is addictively good feel to it. In all fairness, I'm not a drummer, so I don't know how authentic it is, but it's a joy to play. Great response too. I was a little skeptical about spending this much money, but it's definitely high quality.

Great trigger pedal

By Bill from Tampa, Fl on December 8, 2021 Music Background: Semi-retired professional drummer.

Rock solid, I use it on a carpet in my condo and it stays in place during heavy playing. I use it at home with the SPD-SX and although I haven't used it with the full kit at a gig I'm sure it will be fine. A little pricy but you get what you pay for:)

Quality made

By Vince McKeon from Fair Lawn, NJ on December 7, 2021 Music Background: Self taught percussionist

I'm new to electronic percussion and I bought this pedal to use with a Handsonic pad. Although it is adjustable for fine tuning for feel, I found it perfect right out of the box. And it is very quiet which will keep my neighbors in the apartment building liking me. A quality product, no doubt.

Could not be happier.

By Sweetwater Customer on November 10, 2021

This is a solid piece of professional equipment worth every penny. The pedal action is smoother than my iron Cobra 900s. Doubles are a breeze. The response is perfect. The best Edrum pedal i have ever used.

Can't beat Roland

By Calvin Coopman from Iron Mountain, MI on October 22, 2021 Music Background: Drummer in bands for 45 plus years

This is my second pedal. These pedals are built like Mack trucks. They are smooth and unbreakable. Love these pedals!

Perfect, works great with Alesis Strike

By Robert Markwick from ROCHESTER, NY on August 26, 2021

I absolutely love these triggers. I have two.
My kit is an Alesis Strike Pro Kit, and for those wondering, not only is this trigger compatible, but it works better than the included kick drum.
Less noise, no double triggering, no need to crank the sensitivity to get a useable sound, and if you want double kick triggers you can put them much farther apart than most traditional pedal systems will allow (your calves will thank you).

Love this pedal

By Lillian Hastie from Boston on May 24, 2021 Music Background: Drummer and percussionist

Feels just like a good old acoustic pedal! The design gives you a solid stop that feels very natural. Really solidly made. Works very smoothly, resistance was just right for me out of the box. Best digital kick pedal around.

I need another one!!

By Calvin Coopman from Iron Mountain, MI on April 25, 2021 Music Background: Drummer in bands for 45 plus years

I've used DW trigger pedals for years but always wanted to try this pedal. This is probably my best purchase all year! This pedal is not only heavy duty but smooth at the same time. Loving this pedal so much I'm buying another one right now!

THIS KICKS BUTT!!!

By Snappy Happy from Bay Area, California on April 21, 2021 Music Background: Life long drummer / studio Engineere / reinforcement / home workstation hobbyist

I have always owned other brands of kick trigger`s and this one is the only one thats perfect right out of the box. I have not done any adjusting and it has yet to hiccup or double trigger one time. But I`ve only tried it on shag carpet so far for two weeks. Nice and sturdy heavy and built to last im defiantly a happy camper. Im using it with my Octapad SPD-30 system and its working perfectly. In fact, im so pleased with its performance Im going to buy another one that will plug right in to its imput for double kickin pleasure.

The only thing they could do for inprovment is add about a half inch to the lag screws.
And here's an idea, how about a small lil mesh head.
Oh and as always, the service and advise you get from Sweetwater is super. The candy's great too!

Quiet kick / Great Action

By Michael Macapagal from Los Angeles, CA on April 3, 2021

I'm using this kick pedal right now as I type!
Really great velocity/sensitivity that translates perfect to Midi!

Using an SPD-SX as my drum brain~

THUMBS UP

By craig merickel from Sidney, OH on March 24, 2021 Music Background: Guitar, drums, bass, vocals, live sound,

We converted an acoustic kit (DW Performance) to all electric using Roland triggers and the TD 17 module. Our goal was 100% stage silence. It was a learning experience. We wanted the look of real drums on stage without the stage volume. Here is what we learned so far. The Roland RT30K we started with is good if you aren't using double bass or really fast on the single pedal. Through trial and error, watching several youtube videos we were able to get the RT30K 95% perfect. Still wasnt good enough so we went with the KT-10. The KT-10 100% solved any intermittent or double trigger errors. FYI we were using a remo silent stroke bass drum head. Its more $$ for the KT-10, but well worth it. We also looked at the KD-A22 kick drum pad. IMO the pedals are more simple, and easier to pack in and set up. The feel is like any other pedal. Might feel a little different, but still does the job.

DEFINITELY WORTH IT!!

By Tony L from Bronx, NY on January 13, 2021

I live in an apartment above neighbors who complained about my noise from stepping too hard on my previous bass drum trigger pedal. The Roland KT-10 makes it possible to me to play at a very soft level and still get my desired sounds without annoying anyone. It looks and feels great!! I highly recommend getting this unit.

Love this kick pedal

By JEAN LABROSSE from Weston, FL on November 5, 2020 Music Background: I started playing drums as well as keyboard 3 years ago. Im using a Roland TD50 for drums and have a couple of Yamaha Montage keyboards.

Smooth, accurate, high quality construction. Worth every dollar!

Compact size, full sized feel!

By Sweetwater Customer on October 30, 2020

I bought this three years ago for an apartment Roland kit. I have been very pleased. Very heavy duty construction, but well balanced and engineered for excellence feel & stability. Well worth the money looking back. You can smoothly play slide, heel toe, or swivel doubles. Just enough weight & resistance to let you know where the pedal is throughout the throw & return.

Very accurate and responsive

Excellent

By Sweetwater Customer on July 6, 2018

First off, fantastic customer service from Sweetwater as always. This kick trigger has smooth movement and feels nearly identical to a conventional kick pedal, and generates very little noise. Works perfectly with my TD-25KV.

Great

By cc from NC on April 20, 2018

This is a remarkably good pedal. Dynamic and expressive. It's a little loud on a hardwood floor but quiet on carpet. It is hard to believe, I know, but the Roland KT-10 feels better to me than my DW 9000 single pedal. Just great.

Spot on!!!

By Ted on October 26, 2017 Music Background: Pro

Spot on!!!! Simply the best.

Perfect for Hybrid Setup

By Ehrin from New york on September 27, 2017 Music Background: Drummer

I've had one of these sitting next to my acoustic pedal for over a year and it has been awesome. I coupled it with an RT30K and a Y cable and now I have the option of having an acoustic sound, an electronic sound, or a combination of the two. It's small enough to sit right next to my acoustic pedal, rugged enough to last over a year of constant gigging without a single hiccup, and familiar enough to swap between the acoustic and electronic pedals with no change to my playing style or feel. If I had one complaint it's that the rubber on the bottom is a little slick but I use a drum rug and it's not an issue. I'm so happy with this pedal I've purchased a second to keep at a rehearsal facility.

Roland KT 10 Trigger Pedal

By Mike Byerly from St Louis Mo on May 23, 2017 Music Background: Currently drum in 4 working bands

What an incredible trigger pedal !

For years i have used a KD 7, which always worked well.

I purchased a SPD -30, and wanted a trigger pedal that would not have to have room for the beater extending out the front.

The KT 10 is exactly what i needed!
It is a well designed, heavy duty piece of equipment, that works perfectly!!!

It doesn't get better than this!

Great pedal feel, no false triggering, stays put on stage!

Worth the money!

Best on the Market

By Sweetwater Customer on February 21, 2017 Music Background: Professional Drummer, Engineer

If you are in the market for a reliable standalone kick trigger, this is worth the money. Feels like a drum pedal, no false triggers; if you're looking for a pedal for a hybrid acoustic/electric kit - there is no better design to save space.

Finally!

By Tim Suliman from Dearborn, MI on July 18, 2016 Music Background: Drummer, percussionist, recording, etc.

I've tried many electric bass pedal solutions in the past and none ever worked properly or felt right. This is the first one where right out of the box, it feels right and I don't have problems with the trigger threshold. It is very quiet and makes efficient use of space. Solutions that require a traditional pedal are always weird. I highly recommend this.

Great build and performance

By Dale Bjorklund from St. Peter, MN on March 21, 2016 Music Background: Forty year wekend warrior.

Solid as my original early Axis pedal, and that's saying something. Easy to adjust.
Roland has killed it with this pedal. Best kick trigger I own, and I own a few.

Amazed with build quality

By Dale Bjorklund from Saint Peter, MN on February 26, 2016

Guess I'm stunned. Haven't yet had time to trigger a sound, but I have stomped on it and made a tension adjustment and played with the movable weight positions. One thing I'll now say categorically (and I 5-star it for the same reason) is the build quality of this pedal is on par with my much used, buttery smooth still and seemingly indestructible early Axis darling.

It 10

By Fred kf on December 29, 2015 Music Background: 60 years drums

Just purchased Roland KT10 real smooth heavy can use as a double kick or extra snare uses are endless on my TD20 set I've had for 6 years and a addition to my acoustic sets

Well made, smooth working unit.

Great for my hybrid kit

By Scott Jenkins from Thomasville, NC on September 15, 2015

I actually purchased two of these to use with my SPD-30 and I am amazed. One tucks neatly next to my hi-hat pedal and the other fits perfectly between my kick pedal and first floor tom. Incredibly sturdy, great "natural" feel. Best E-Pedal purchase I have ever made.

Ground breaking hybrid pedal

By Craig from Agawam,ma on March 6, 2015 Music Background: Professional

Takes the place of a pad and a pedal, but so much more. Ive been playing drums 40 years and the Roland's since they came out. They have finally arrived. By pairing this pedal with the td-15 set which has supernatural sound and feel, you get it all. Pedal is heavy, fast , quiet and perfectly balanced. It's so fast, you may be able to eliminate a double bass pedal if you play one.

Easiest Pedal Ever

By David from Denver on August 13, 2014 Music Background: Pro Musician

I've been waiting for a pedal with such ease and quiet operation. It's well balanced and I can control the attack much easier. I play guitar while using this pedal and it fits my needs well.

Love it!

By RH from NYC on August 13, 2014 Music Background: musician

In the studio, I always like to record acoustic drums live. Unfortunately the acoustic bass drum erupts and is tough to record in that room with only 2 mics (even with towels inserted in the bass drum). With the KT-10 running into a Handsonic HPD-15 and the SE mic that I purchased from Sweetwater over the past few years, the drums sound amazing on the demos I record.

Smooth as silk.

By John Patterson from MISSOULA, MT on January 8, 2024

This pedal is a gift of technical prowess. Genius!

It is a beautiful chunk of metal, that could sit by itself on the mantel piece.

Attach it to the Roland Drum Machine and its smooth ride becomes apparent-squeeze the pedal and you are transported to the world of Vienna Friedhof im Herbst.
Get my drift?

You have not experienced sound, or the possibility of making sound, until you have used this pedal.
Godspeed.
Forewith.

Solid, Aesthetic and Feels Great!

By Jose Coronado from Calexico, CA on August 3, 2021 Music Background: Drummer

I bought the pedal used and wow this thing is great! Been playing it for over a year now with my edrum setup and have been loving it. It feels pretty good quality and using it feels pretty smooth. My only complaints would be that it needs velcro because the spikes aren't enough to hold it down. I find myself positioning it pretty often but it doesnt bother too much. Its hard to put something heavy in front of it because it might hit the beater. That and the price but if you can find it used for cheaper its a great deal. I wanna find something similar for my acoustic drums, which would probably be something with direct drive. Oh and dont play barefoot too much because mine has a footmark lol.

Solid, playable, quiet, limited adjustability

By Darren on December 13, 2020 Music Background: Amateur Bedroom Drummer

The quality of the KT-10 is evident as soon as you remove it from the box. It's heavy, solid, with good fit and finish and a silky smooth mechanism. The action was initially too light for me, but that's probably because I've spent a year playing a Roland KD-8 with a Stage Master HP30 pedal that you can really stomp down on, so maybe I've just developed some bad habits. The KT-10 is very sensitive to foot movement requiring more finesse than what I'm used to, so I have some learning (and perhaps unlearning) to do, which brings me to the reason I took half a star off my rating: there are very few ways to configure the KT-10 to your liking. You can slightly adjust the spring tension, and slightly adjust the weight of the beater, and that's it. I would have appreciated the ability to adjust the vertical travel distance of the footboard, or the distance of the beater from the trigger surface, but those options are not available, so, in the end, I've had to adapt my playstyle to the KT-10 instead of adapting the KT-10 to my playstyle. That said, it does feel really nice to play with its wide footboard and smooth, responsive action. Who knows, I might actually develop a better right foot because of it. No more stomping like a gorilla!

But is it as quiet as Roland claims? I suppose that depends on your perspective. It's not silent, of course, but it is certainly perceptibly quieter than my KD-8/HP30 combo. The KT-10 produces a muted "thump thump thump", similar in quality to the sound of striking a mesh head with a drumstick, which I find preferable to a kick tower and pedal with its obnoxiously loud "SLAP! SLAP! SLAP!" I don't know if the KT-10 achieves the advertised 75% noise reduction, but one could easily have a conversation over the sound of it. Now the loudest thing on my kit is the prominent "tack tack tack" of the hi-hat (does anybody make "silent" electronic cymbals?).

I did find that the KT-10 has a tendency to creep forward on my rug even with the spikes extended, so I stuck some heavy duty Velcro on a wood block and affixed it behind the pedal which seems to have solved the problem.

Overall, I'm happy with this purchase. This seems like one of those pieces of gear I'll be using long after I've upgraded the rest of my kit.

Finally, great customer service and fast shipping from Sweetwater!

Really good but pricey

By JV1 from Philly Birbs on December 26, 2017 Music Background: old local pro musician and DJ

This one of those items that you just have to have if you are a serious drummer these days with a mobile electronic set-up. It just works very well and feels a lot like a real solid acoustic kick drum pedal. In fact, it actually has a moving beater head that slaps back towards your foot as my wife informed me as it was too loud at night. I take a half star off for not being anything remotely close to "silent". But I tried a Yamaha e-pedal that is closer to silent but it is pretty much unplayable for any quick notes that require a bounce off a pad. While this is pricey it looks like it should last a long time and work at a high level forever. Nice and heavy and very acoustic feel that resists moving across the floor. If it were a hundred bucks cheaper, it would be 5 stars and they could sell a gazillion of these.

Great complement to my KD-120

By Eric from Seattle on July 16, 2014 Music Background: Hobbyist

I'm using it daisy chained to my KD-120 as a double BD pedal. In this context it does everything advertized. The feel is not quite the same as the KD-120 but surprising close when the spring is adjusted to match. It also gives me a quiet option for late night session.

Great Pedal but not for the Heavy Footed

By Clark Hubbard from Ithaca, MI on March 11, 2024

Love what this pedal is all about but I have a heavy foot as I play and I have killed the trigger in two of these over the past 3 years. I probably could have looked into changing out the trigger on my own but at this price point I decided to move on to something different.
