If you love railway tie frets, this is the guitar for you. They do not crown the frets at the factory -- they are absolutely flat, I mean hilariously flat. Notes are indistinct and fizzy, even with factory spec action and neck relief. Before I can do any serious playing with this thing I need to get the frets crowned by my local tech, which will cost less than shipping both ways to get this issue sorted out via warranty. This is the first time I've bought a guitar online sight unseen, and it is definitely the last. My mistake was not Googling "Schecter flat frets" before I bought this guitar. The irony is that I bought it specifically for the stainless steel frets. Learn from my mistake and think very, very carefully before buying this "signature" guitar. What's even funnier is that I have two less expensive Schecters and the frets were nicely crowned out of the box. Live and learn.
