I've been playing blues harmonica for 42 years and making money at it for 41 years.

    top of the line

I've suffered for so long with sub-par mic stands that I feel beaten down. So I decided to upgrade and did some online research. Everything pointed towards this stand as a kind of reference standard. Still, when I took a pair of these babies out of their mail-order boxes this afternoon and assembled them, I was--yes--blown away. I almost wanted to cry, I kid you not. They are elegant, heavy (in a good way: well-built), perfect. I didn't realize they were imported from Germany, but I'm not surprised: they are the equivalent of a BMW or Mercedes. Every design element looks, feels, effortlessly right. I can't wait to gig with them. Worth every penny.

    Great Mic Stand

    Perfect

What can you say about a mic stand? How about this, In twenty years of performing I've used many different stands, but this one beats them all. Built like a tank and heavy enough to hold it's own against a rowdy drunk girl in the front row, you can't go wrong with this one. It might cost a little more, but you only have to buy it once. Go ahead, splurge, get the good one. You'll be glad you did.

    The stand(ard)

When loading up my car for load-in, my neighbors hear this coming from my garage where I keep my mic stands: "Nope. Nope. Nope....HERE THEY ARE!" that is basically me picking through the beat up-slouchy, and unreliable stands from other brands that I've accumulated over the years until I find my K&Ms. Why did I ever buy anything other than a K&M Stand? As usual, they are sturdy, don't sag, and can take an absolute beating which happens when other people "help" you put away your gear. I vow never to stray again, K&M!

    Sturdy and Portable

Great stable mic stand. Good for traveling gigs and other uses.

    They used to be better

I bought a pair of these to match the others of the same brand-type-function I bought a few years ago. The new ones are a little shorter, a little lighter, and a little less rugged than the previous ones, and yes, they cost more. If I wanted a "value" stand, I would have bought one. Not very pleased with this.
