Peavey has always made one of the best values in loud keyboard amps. The KB5 is no exception! Amazing coverage at high audio quality sets this amp apart from many others! If you need lots of sound for either stage or audience volume, the KB5 can deliver.
The Peavy KB 5
I Have used the amp on four gigs since I purchased it and it delivers the power as needed. It is a decent portable PA for a multi-instrumentalist as I am. I am satisfied with the price and the performance.
This is Excellent Amp for Electronic drums
I just recently got the KB-5 for my Roland TD-6VS V-drum kit. I was surprised with the sound that came out of the KB-5. I was nervious at first when hearing it had two 10" speakers in it, becuause of my past experience with the Roland PM-3 which had dual 10" speakers in it. This amp has low end and mid range for the kick drum and toms, and high end for the snare and cymbals. It also has a horn it too. It gives me alot of low end, punch, and attack for the kick drum. I was blown away by it's sound. I am glad I got it. I would serious recommend this for any V-drummers and electronic drummers out there for there V-Drums/electronic drums.
I am a touring musician and I purchased this amp to replace a 20 year old Peavey KB 300. This amp could not handle the pressure I was putting on it. First it started distorting very badly. I had to put it in the shop after only 90 days of having it out on the road. Thankfully, it was still under warranty. I got it out of the shop and the very next performance, the whole amp went out. I finished the show with my 20 year old KB 300.
I returned the KB 5 and purchased a Roland KC 550. TOTALLY worth the extra money.
DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME OF MONEY ON THIS PIECE OF EQUIPMENT.
