Well made. Nothing fancy.

I bought this because my great-nephew decided to learn ukulele and I wanted to learn enough to help teach him how to play. After reading lots of reviews I settled on this unit and it was a great choice. It plays well and stays in tune. Looks good, but minus the bling. It is like the put the money into the quality of the instrument and not the frills. Perfect for this price range. Very happy with this purchase.

Kala KA-ATP-CT cedar top uke

I'm a classical guitarist who started thinking of getting a uke after visiting some shops in Hawaii. I like cedar tops and the "classical" arrangement of the tuning machines. So I went for this and it was delivered a few days later. Wow! It is just gorgeous. And so light! It looks like my classical git's baby brother. The grain match on the back is fantastic, and the top cedar has tight grain with nice bloom. Very playable with rosewood finger board and nicely dressed frets. Can't comment on the original strings as I immediately replaced them with D'Addario low-G uke strings. Thanks Ian R. for steering me to this gem.

Tenor Ukulele, what a nice choice!

The help and service we got from our Sales Representative (Ryan) what phenomenal! And the Tenor Ukulele was a perfect choice. What a beautiful and happy sounding instrument. Thanks.

The Baritone is Awesome

I'm a big fan of Kala ukulele's. IMO, they are the best value ukes on the market. And the more you spend, the better that value. I special ordered my Baritone version of this uke through Sweetwater and just received it today. I am more than a little impressed. This thing has a sweet mellow tone from the cedar top. Every detail is good. My biggest fear when I buy without playing first is setup. I don't want to get the instrument and then lose it for a month waiting for it to get professionally setup. This one comes great right out of the box. I'm adding the Kremona UK-1 pickup to mine to use as a low end on my upcoming CD. The combination should be the best sound you can get without upgrading to a pricy fishman. I highly recommend the uke. I highly recommend Kala. And I highly recommend Sweetwater (ask for Mark in sales, he'll do you right!).

Total Class

The combination of a cedar top and acacia is a match made in heaven this is one extra fine ukulele and it is second to none, including those made by Divine, and that is really saying something. If you want quality this is it. It has tone you would not believe and is really loud even when played soft. it is a race horse that want to go. It is perfectly color coordinated the paduk binding accents the side wood and top to make it just one class act. Call Marshall Oliver and let him get yours for you. Sweetwater is the only place I buy my stuff because it is done right every time.
