Taylor K22e Koa Series Acoustic-electric Guitar at a Glance:
  • Solid koa back, sides, and top for rich tone
  • Super-comfortable Grand Concert body style provides excellent tonal balance
  • Taylor Expression System 2 electronics deliver superior sound onstage
Solid koa back, sides, and top for rich tone

The Taylor K22e has an all-koa body that combines the midrange richness of mahogany with the sparkling top end of maple. The Grand Auditorium body style further enhances the wide-ranging tone and excellent balance of the K22e. And because all-solid tonewoods are used, the K22e's tone will become richer and more complex as the years go by.

Super-comfortable Grand Concert body style provides excellent tonal balance

Arguably Taylor's most comfortable body style, the K22e's smaller than average Grand Concert shape is the perfect fit for anyone looking for a more manageable instrument. That makes the K22e a particularly good fit if you're a finger-stylest or if you have shorter arms.

Taylor Expression System 2 electronics deliver superior sound onstage

If you play plugged in, then you're going to love the Taylor Expression System 2 (ES2) electronics built into your K22e acoustic guitar. The key to this fantastic system is the 3-section proprietary pickup located behind the saddle. Because of where it's positioned and how it's integrated into the K22e's saddle, the ES2 pickup provides you with remarkably clear and accurate sound. In addition to a master volume control, a pair of tone controls let you tweak your highs and lows to get the sound you need, and a discreet phase switch offers vital onboard feedback suppression.

Taylor K22e Koa Series Acoustic-electric Guitar Features:
  • Koa Series Grand Concert guitar with Hawaiian koa body and elegant appointments
  • Gorgeous Island Vine fretboard inlay and abalone soundhole rosette add touches of class any guitarist can appreciate
  • Comfortable Grand Concert body style fits players of all styles and sizes, without compromising on tone
  • Ebony fretboard feels fast and smooth, further enhanced by the fretboard binding

Perfection

Everyone has that "perfect" guitar, some have found it- others are still looking. This is my perfect guitar. My wife bought this for me 3 years ago and I haven't been able to hardly put it down since. I had played Koa guitars before (usually only back and sides, not full Koa) and I always thought they were nice to look at, but didn't sound very well to my ears. This one is different, I believe that it's the smaller, all Koa body that makes the difference. Every note rings clear, the case fits like a glove and all the rest of the fit and finish are perfect. You can believe the video's when they say that Koa will open up over time as mine surely has. The sound was amazing to begin with, but it has definitely gotten better and better over the last 3 years. I would recommend this masterpiece to anyone!

Blown away by this guitar!

I love everything about this guitar! The smaller body is perfectly suited to my petite frame and is really comfortable to play. It also sounds fantastic and the koa provides a really unique tone. It has nice highs and rich lows, and it's perfect for finger-style playing. It's also visually striking with the naturally flamed koa, island vine inlay, and gold hardware. The K22e is a piece of art, and is definitely worth splurging on! I couldn't be happier to have it as part of my collection.

Amazing guitar

It's sound is so unique! I've never heard any guitar sound like this one before. The all solid koa wood makes each note sound so profound and clear. It is bright and warm sounding at the same time. Plus the sustain is amazing. The wood is so pretty, it is gold in the sun. The neck inlay is creative and detailed! The head stock binding is even detailed. The whole guitar is amazingly detailed. The action on the neck is perfect, the satin finish makes the neck easy to slide on. The small concert body shape is easy to hold and play. The case fits perfectly, very secure. The bridge pins are easy to pull out and put in, they aren't loose or too tight. The tuning pegs hold and turn nicely. The ES system picks up the guitars natural sound. I was worried when looking at the ES system because I had heard some bad reviews but after owning this guitar I haven't had any problems! I love it!
