Designed with Slipknot's iconic guitarist

Slipknot has been churning out some of the hardest-hitting metal riffs for over a decade, thanks in no small part to the untamed tone of guitarist Jim Root. While some metal guitarists still don't know that you can serve up sonic evisceration with a Jazzmaster, Jim Root knows better - the Fender Jim Root Jazzmaster has ultra-smooth playability with high-octane output provided by EMG humbucking pickups.

Non-traditional mahogany body

While most Jazzmaster sport an alder body, Slipknot's Jim Root plays a mahogany model for its tighter low-end response and awesome sustain. The Fender Jim Root Jazzmaster holds true to his signature guitar, with a mahogany body that sets it apart from most Jazzmasters. The flat black finish and chrome EMG pickups give this metal machine an understated look. A contoured neck heel gives you access to the upper frets you need when laying down an out-of-this-world solo.

Made for today's metal guitarist

The unique offset body design of the Jazzmaster has made it a stand-out on stages across the world. Jim Root's signature Jazzmaster takes this prized instrument and tweaks it for metal, with a pair of EMG pickups and a compound-radius fretboard for effortless lead playing. All of the electronics we're stripped out except a volume control and pickup switch. Take is from the guitar experts at Sweetwater, you'll love the aggressive character of the Fender Jim Root Jazzmaster.

Excellent Value

I've had this guitar now for almost 2 years. I have multiple very expensive guitars and have played and owned tons of guitars. The Jim Root Jazzmaster is one of the best values out there in my option. This guitar is super versatile, the quality is excellent, the EMGs are kick-butt, the neck is perfect for bigger hands, the body is comfortable, the bellycut is a nice touch - I love it!

Howlin, Growler built to take whatever you got.

I am a tall person 6'4 who likes to have a nice no frills tone monster hangin off my shoulder. Built like a tank. I'm not a huge fan of emgs but they work great with this setup. V knob works great to go from full blast to the less dirty side with a little lay off. No tone needed. Ya kinda grow into it. The body does start to show your wear points. The fingerboard is ebony, no dots, nuff said, locking tuners. Nice Fender white tweed case, straplocks. Plain and simple just how I like it. Awesome US guitar.

Jim Root Jazz master

This is the most comfortable guitar I have ever played. The neck is prefect for my tastes not too thin not too thick just right. The action was pretty good out of the box and can be set real low. The fret job is impeccable. The fit and finish is outstanding as an American guitar should be. I did have to fix the bridge pickup because the screw came out in shipping. That was a pain in the butt but no fault of Fender's or sweetwater's. I couldn't be more satisfied with my purchase and have converted to Fender after years of playing Gibson and other LP shaped guitars. Buy with confidence you are looking at an awesome instrument.

Went from OK to great!

I'll be honest, I did not like this guitar at first, it was buzz city and I just couldn't get a feel for it. Once I took the factory strings off an gave it a setup to my specs, I was blown away!! I can't put this thing down. It it so comfortable to play, it's like the body was carved to me. It's a heavy guitar since it's mahogany, but the sustain is outstanding from it. The EMGs are clean and powerful. Will from Sweetwater was nothing less than great, he will have my business from here on in.
