So far, I really like this guitar. Not quite as "surfy" as a standard jag, but some really good clean and distorted tones, once the thin strings it comes with are replaced. The Atomic in the bridge covers grunge, ZZ-Top and 80s hair band tones quite well. The neck and middle are a little hotter than you might expect in a Jag or Mustang, but clean up and cover new wave and 60s surf pretty well. Action is light, even with medium heavy strings. No rattles from the Fender TOM-style bridge and trem set-up is nice and easy.
The strings this guitar come with don't really do the pickups justice. I put a set of steel flatwound 11s on it within an hour of receiving it. Heavier nickel rounds would probably sound nice, as well. Action is still pretty light, even with the 11 flats. This guitar really should come with at least round 11s - maybe a medium top / big bottom set, as the stock strings feel like loose rubber bands on the short neck. Truss rod needed about 3/8 turn to bring back to flat with the new strings and the low side of the bridge lowered just a hair to intonate.
I got the guitar fast - within 5 days of ordering - and over Thanksgiving weekend. The guitar was set up well - in tune, intonated, and no issues with the action, though I kind of knew I would be changing strings as soon as I got it, so I wasn't super concerned about that. My service rep sent my pics of the guitar and has followed up with me to ensure I am pleased with my purchase.
