  • Squire's Vintage Modified series: hot mods of classic Fenders
You're in for a treat when you take the stage or do session work with this axe

When you take the stage with the Squire Vintage Modified Jaguar, you're in for a real treat. With its offset-waist body and colorful vintage finish, this axe not only gives your fans something eye-popping to look at - it also sounds stunning, thanks to a pair of Duncan Designed Jaguar pickups that serve up a broad range of immense tone, from crystal cleans, to gritty grind. This Jag's sound is enhanced by its basswood body, while the lightweight, offset design makes short work of your marathon gigs. But don't think of this Jag as a stage-only axe. Those very same sonic and ergonomic qualities also make the Vintage Modified Jaguar ideal for spicing your recordings with scrumptious, unique six-string textures.

Tone and playability collide in this vintage-inspired hotrod

Speaking of tone, Squire has spec'd their Vintage Modified Jaguar with a pair of Duncan Designed Jaguar single-coils, routed through the unique Jaguar switching system - which includes comprehensive preset control over two distinct circuits. This produces a superb array of tone colors from crisp and clear to warm and chunky. You'll appreciate this Jag as a lead instrument. First off, bending strings on this baby is effortless. The Jaguar's distinctive slinkiness is facilitated by a 24" scale - noticeably shorter than the Strat's 25.5 inches - and even a tad shorter than the Les Paul's. Add to this 6105 frets and a 9.5" radius rosewood fingerboard, and you'll soon discover lead-playing abilities you never knew you had. Comfort? The Jag's offset-waist body design - radical when it was introduced - fits like a glove, whether you're seated or standing.

Squire's Vintage Modified series: hot mods of classic Fenders

Squire's tapped into something really cool with their Vintage Modified series - hot mods of classic Fenders, all sporting top-shelf materials and components, with primo fit-and-finish. If you're a guitarist or bassist, you'll likely agree that vintage Fender guitars and basses are heavily lusted-after items, so it's great that Fender, in their infinite wisdom, have set their Squire subsidiary free to create hot-rodded and affordable versions of the classics.

Squire Vintage Modified Jaguar Solidbody Electric Guitar Features:
  • Lightweight basswood offset body and short scale length give you enhanced playability
  • Comfortable Vintage Modified C-profile maple neck with 9.5"-radius rosewood fingerboard
  • Medium-jumbo frets, 24" scale length; 1.65" nut width
  • Chrome hardware; vintage-style tuning keys
  • Adjustable chrome bridge; vintage-style non-locking floating vibrato

The Squire Vintage Modified Jaguar: legendary vibe, sound, and playability!

Squier vintage modified Jaguar

The Squier Jaguar is is one fine guitar. It was set up perfect right out of the box. It had a low action set-up from Sweetwater. The people at Sweetwater were all very kind and easy to work with. For the price this is a great guitar. I will do more business with Sweetwater. Once again a perfect guitar and a great place to purchase an instrument from.

Great guitar, crazy good price!

Nice job Squier! I love this guitar. I've been playing for 30 years and have some pretty nice guitars. Playing this Jaguar has turned out to be a nice little vacation from my beloved Stratocaster. It's hard to describe the tone, single coil without being too bright. It's just pleasing to the ears and a pleasure to play. It doesn't feel like a budget guitar at all, the rosewood fretboard is smooth, the neck is a great player. I like the way the shorter scale allows me to manipulate the notes easier with bends and vibrato. The tremolo is very functional, it's not as responsive as a Strat's tremolo but WAY more useful than a Bigsby. I did some research before I ordered this guitar, many people weren't satisfied with the stock bridge and simply replaced it with a Mustang bridge. I went ahead and ordered a mustang bridge and I'm glad I did. The stock bridge is not usable in my opinion, even after putting 10s on and raising the action. But don't let that dissuade you from getting this great guitar! The Mustang bridge is a cheap and easy fix and works perfectly.

Surf is Up

Fender has done it this time fantastic guitar little tip for you boys who have Fenders with two channels Deluxe Reverb Twin Reverb you can reroute reverb Tank and get a soaking wet sound similar to a original 63 Reverb Unit you can use normal channel controls to set your depth and dwell of your reverb setting as I said this model as well as the Jazzmaster are Super guitars by from Sweetwater and you wont go wrong believe me

Answered Prayer

I have recently been afflicted with severe back problems that has made me sit while I am playing. After researching guitars that would be easier to play, this guitar has been the answer. The lighter weight, the offset waist and the 24" scale has made this guitar what I was looking for. It came out of the box, set up and ready to go. I am playing it through an older all tube Fender amp and it sounds really great. I cannot find anything wrong with the finish. I am truly surprised that I was able to get a guitar of this quality for the price. I do have one issue though. I have 6 guitars and over the years I have used Shaller strap locks. They will not work on this guitar. The screws are too big and will not work. Smaller screws won't work either as the hole in the guitar is too big. The sales engineer is working on finding a strap lock that will work.
Music background: I have been playing for over 50 years. The last 15 years have been Contemporary Christian in a worship setting.
