Beauty, tone, and playability

With Fender's Classic Series '60s Jaguar Lacquer, there's genius in the details. This beloved short-scale guitar's beauty, tone, and playability are no accident. It starts with the lightweight alder body, the classic 3-ply shell pickguard, and a thin nitro lacquer finish. Then, there's the highly playable C-shaped maple neck with its rosewood fingerboard and 22 vintage-style frets, unique sounding single-coil pickups, floating tremolo, intricate switching system, and more. If you're a fan of '60s Jags, then the Fender Classic Player '60s Jaguar is one drool-worthy axe.

Vintage-style pickups provide classic tone

At Sweetwater, we know a guitar is only as good as its pickups. Fender wouldn't rest until the Classic Series '60s Jaguar Lacquer sounded as vintage as it looks, so they got to work developing a special set of pickups specifically for the American Vintage Series. This Jag packs a duo of American Vintage '65 Jaguar single-coil pickups, specially wound to period-correct specs and tone. You get the same tonal versatility that made the Jaguar the legend it is today.

Gorgeous, great-sounding gloss lacquer finish

The Fender Classic Series '60s Jaguar Lacquer wears a gorgeous gloss lacquer finish. Lacquer finishes (standard back in the day) are significantly thinner than today's polyurethane finishes, allowing the guitar to breathe. Lacquer finishes not only look wonderful, but they also enhance the '60s Jaguar Lacquer's tonal qualities with age.

Fender Classic Series '60s Jaguar Lacquer Solidbody Electric Guitar Features:
  • Classic Series Jaguar that's based on the design of original Jags
  • Vintage-style nitro lacquer finish allows the alder body to breathe and enhance tonally as it ages
  • C-shaped maple neck plays fast and smooth
  • American Vintage '65 Jaguar single-coil pickups are wound to match the sound and specs of original '60s pickups
  • Vintage-style appointments for a total classic Jaguar look
  • Hard case included
A surf rock classic no collection should be without - Fender's '60s Jaguar Lacquer!

say whaaaaaaaaaaaat??

This thing RIPS! It might be made in Mexico, but don't let it fool you, this is the nicest MIM fender I've ever played. Right out of the box, it plays like butter, my dude. The pickups sound awesome, I really like the neck pickup + hi pass together. I've seen reviews of guitars with the same pickups that say they give off a nasty squeal with even a moderate amount of gain but I have had no problems with that. Reviews have also said to replace the bridge but again, it's totally fine. I did put a buzz stop on, which helps with that among other things. Anyway, what I'm saying is buy this guitar. Sweetwater is awesome - Amazing customer service, free candy, 36 months no interest
Music background: a few national tours

Phenomenal Guitar!!!!!!!

For anyone looking into buying a Fender Jaguar, I would highly recommend this guitar! It is a top quality, amazingly built Fender. I was on a bit of a budget so I was looking into the Classic Player Series Jaguars in stores when I stumbled on this guitar. I was instantly blown away. Although I really liked the classic player HH, the 60's laquer jaguar blew it out of the water. The neck on this guitar is WAY better than the classic players and it also is equipped with American vintage pickups which sound incredible. It was only a couple hundred dollars more than the classic player but it's definitely a superior guitar. The build quality is on par with American standard instruments. I own an American strat and an American Tele and can say that this guitar holds its own in comparison to build quality. I'm not a huge fan of buying artist series guitars so the Kurt Cobain Jaguar didn't really appeal to me. The hard shell case for the guitar is great as well, all around totally worth every penny.

Good purchase

I wanted a Jaguar for many years but always wound up with another, mostly because I was intimidated with the controls and not sure I would do it justice. I remember trying to sound like the Beach Boys, but it never happened. With the help of my great sales Rep. at Sweetwater, I decided to order one. Didn't have time to change my mind if I wanted because I ordered at 2:00 PM and received the next day at 4:00 PM. Sweetwater knows how to do everything right. This Jaguar is tops in assembly and finish, I couldn't be happier with this purchase. As far as being intimidated with the controls and functions, I shouldn't have been, they are easy to understand. This is just my opinion, I pulled out a 40 year old Crate Tube Amplifier and got some good sounds. THIS GUITAR IS JUST PLAIN FUN TO PLAY AND PLAY AROUND WITH.
