The Full Range of Marshall Tones - in a Combo!

The Marshall JVM205C all-tube 2 x 12" 50-watt amplifier brings you the full range of Marshall tone, from crisp clean to molten roar! The 2-channel JVM205C gives you six modes, covering two independent channels with three gain stages, each with its own footswitchable memory. It's a great feature for ultra-flexible onstage switching via the included dedicated, programmable footswitch unit. Plus, the combination of vintage and modern speakers provides great tone. Two effects loops, reverb for each channel, a speaker-emulated XLR line out, and two footswitchable master volumes also grace the JVM205C.

Marshall JVM205C 50-watt 2 x 12" Tube Amplifier Combo at a Glance:
  • Channel switching and more
  • Silence is golden
  • Marshall heritage
  • From glassy to a roar
  • Two twelves - no waiting
Channel switching and more

The JVM2 series amps don't simply give you footswitchable channels. You get an entire palette brimming with different degrees of distortion, tonality, and effects. The included 4-way switch has five easy-to-read LEDs, making this rig ready for stage use. It's also programmable, so you can set up different combinations of channel, mode (green, orange, or red), reverb level, effects level, and master volume easily. The parallel/series effects loops are also switchable on/off. Marshall made sure you'll get the most out of this amp even when you're at the front of the stage!

Silence is golden

When on standby, the JVM2's emulated XLR output is fully operational, allowing you to record in total silence - a godsend for those late night recording sessions!

Marshall heritage

Every JVM2 is made at the Marshall factory in the tonal heart of England. Time-tested, traditional methods of craftsmanship and construction are combined with the latest advances in modern manufacturing technology, ensuring world-class build quality and roadworthiness. Internally, the JVM2 circuitry and layout has been kept to a minimum, ensuring the integrity of the guitar tone and an incredibly low noise floor - this coupled with meticulous valve selection and high tolerance, quality components adds to the all-important reliability factor that is synonymous with the Marshall legend.

From glassy to a roar

Two completely independent channels sounds fine, but this amp gives you so much more than that! Each channel features three footswitchable modes: green, orange, and red. These modes give you different voicings and levels of overdrive ranging from pristine clean to super-saturated, harmonic-drenched, sustain-for-days distorted. Of course, the beauty of this configuration is that you can easily dial in these tones and everything in between, and access them with the touch of a footswitch.

Two twelves - no waiting

Marshall has fitted the JVM205C combo amp with one Marshall G-12 Vintage 12" and one Heritage 12" Speaker - wired in series, not parallel. Talk about tonal immediacy. These two speakers in combination are more than the sum of their parts, delivering a complex, looser feel to this JVM's response. This is a clever design technique often employed in megabuck boutique amps, and we're happy to see it on a production Marshall.

Marshall JVM205 50-watt 2 x 12" Tube Amplifier Combo Features:
  • All-tube design featuring 5 x 12AX7 and 2 x EL34 (50-watt) or 4 x EL34 (100-watt)
  • 2 totally independent, footswitchable channels - clean/crunch and overdrive
  • Each channel has 3 footswitchable modes - green, orange, and red
  • Each mode has switch memory (reverb on/off, effects loop on/off, master volume 1 or 2)
  • Footswitchable, studio-quality digital reverb
  • Independent reverb controls for both channels
  • 2 footswitchable master volumes
  • 2 effects loops - 1 series and 1 parallel/series
  • Parallel/series effects loop is footswitchable on/off
  • Speaker-emulated XLR line-out
  • Programmable 4-way, 5-LED footswitch with memory capabilities
  • All switching can be done via MIDI
  • 1 Marshall G-12 Vintage 12" and 1 Heritage 12" Speaker (wired in series)
  • Made in England
The Marshall JVM205C packs incredible tones and footswitchable control into a great combo amp!

Versatile amp with modern amenities

I was needing a pro-quality amp with channel switching and switchable master volumes and I picked the right one. It does everything from a high-headroom sqeaky clean to a triple gain-stage searing lead, with four steps in between. The footswitch programming can be a bit confusing at first but I prefer the default setup. The effects loop can handle both -10dBv or +4dBv so you're good to go with stompboxes and rack effects. It also has non-buffered line level power amp insert but I haven't experimented with that yet. This amp will be able to grow with my rig. If it was stolen I would cry and be withdrawn for a few days but once the tears dried up I would work, beg, borrow, but not steal until I could buy another. This is the first high gain amp I've owned so it has taken a bit to learn how to use it. WIth that said, the tone knob is your friend. This amp has a great top end and can cut though but might be too much by itself. The amp is pretty quiet until you kick in that third gain stage it gets pretty noisy and needs a gate.
Music background: Blues, Rock, Jazz, Reggae

Covers all the Marshall sounds.

I wanted something that could get me classic Plexi and JCM tones and this thing does it all. The clean channel is fantastic to boot. So many tones that sound just like the artists. This amp is LOUD but also very manageable for 50W.

The best all around Amp.

I have been playing Guitar for 30 plus years, no puns towards anybody on this review. I have had Mesa's, EVH iii 5150 very recent and many more top brands to name a few. This amp as I can remember has them all beat as for as balance, tone, plenty of gain and a great clean and everything in between. Sweetwater is by far the best in customer service and in sales. My rep. is Geoff Allen @ ext1386, Give him a call and he will lead you to you're needs.

Awesome Amp

This amp is so great in many ways, the clean channel is super clean and allows for blending of effects through that side, while the hot channels are beyond smokin' white-hot! I haven't had time to totally explore all the possibilities with this amp, but so far I couldn't be more pleased.

Killer Amp!

Amazing amplifier with plenty of tone and a powerful punch! Want a nice crisp clean? This amp can do it. Hard rock roar? Not a problem. That's what I love about this amp...amazing flexibility and a ton of tone! Hey it is a Marshall afterall! Built very well and the programmable footswitch is very nice also. Special thanks to my rep Ben Porter (ext 1275).
