An Entry-level Guitar You May Never Outgrow

With distinctive looks, aggressive tone, and impressive playability, the Jackson JS Series Monarkh SC JS22Q has classic Jackson appeal at a great price. Its eye-catching quilt maple top is guaranteed to turn a few heads. Its high-output ceramic humbucking pickups sound intense and can easily take your amplifier from clean sounds to metal territory. Expect many years of reliable playability thanks to its graphite-reinforced neck with compound-radius fretboard. Learn to play longer runs across more of the neck, taking advantage of a contour-cut heel for easier fret access. The SC JS22Q packs a lot of value.

Aggressive tone delivered by ceramic-magnet humbucking pickups

The SC JS22Q packs a pair of ceramic humbucking pickups and can deliver a wide tonal range. Pickups with ceramic magnets are popular in heavier music styles due to their high output, exceptional clarity, and wide frequency response. That also makes them perfect for most other styles too, giving you a robust guitar signal for further sculpting with pedals and your amplifier's tone controls.

Plays fast across the entire fretboard

As your playing speeds up, the SC JS22Q won't get in your way. The compound-radius fretboard is rounder near the nut for easier chords, and it flattens out as you move up the neck for faster melodic playing. And you'll find it's comfortable to play up to the highest frets, thanks to the contour-cut heel that helps you transition to the highest registers on the fretboard.

Sturdy neck that's built to last

Your guitar's neck takes a lot of abuse, between your playing and the constant string tension. The SC JS22Q boasts a graphite-reinforced maple neck, designed to resist twisting and warping over the years. The guitarists here at Sweetwater are impressed by the reliability of the SC JS22Q.

Amazing
I love this guitar. It's beautiful, great sounding pickups and the most comfortable I've ever played. But what's more amazing is Sweetwater's concern over my happiness with their product. When I received it , it didn't come with the 55 point inspection it was supposed to have. When I emailed Sweetwater about it within an hour they called me back and offered to exchange it. By this time I had already set it up and didn't want to return it so to repay me for my time they sent me a FREE hard shell Gator case and I'm talking top of the line. I'm overwhelmed !!! I will never buy music gear from anyone else . Thanks so much to the Sweetwater team that cared so much for a little guy like me being happy.

Nice color and look but has some rough edges... literally
I got this to be kind of a Marty Friedman tribute.Purple and kinda like his signature shape and brand but inexpensive. This guitar isn't bad but it has pretty bad fret sprout and would fail the Know Your Gear nylon test badly. ;) Also the truss rod was really off which wouldn't have been such a bit deal but taking off the truss rod cover was another issue that shouldn't be. Very hard to get the screws out without stripping the heads.
Pickups aren't great but okay for heavier stuff at the price point. Since my point was to modify the guitar though I put Marty Friedman EMG pickups in it as well as an EMG switch. Getting all that to fit in the body cavity was quite a challenge. I also had to make the "holes" bigger to fit the pots through the body...
Anyway, sounds pretty good now and looks even better.

Unbelievable Value
This guitar should not play or sound as good as it does considering the cost. I have been completely and pleasantly surprised. It has incredible sustain and bite. The neck is smooth and I didn't have to dress the frets. It required very little to setup for my liking. This guitar plays as good if not better than my Gibson SG which cost 3 times as much. The neck is a little thin for me but this is my only complaint. I highly recommend this guitar, especially at this price. The fretboard has the feel of ebony but with a dark purple tint to it. It may not be for everyone but for me it has the sound of a sg with a slimmer neck and fatter frets. I also appreciate the compound radius which feels quite good on my hand. If you can spare the cash you would do well with one of these.
Music background: long time player.

For the price almost can't beat it.
It's a good guitar. It's a less paul style with a bolt on neck. The arm cut makes it so playable neck has a nice finish.

Frets shoot guitars way above It's price point.

REVIEW UPDATE
I had to write a review update after playing an annual Festival in a nearby town on Jun 8th. This guitar is a keeper. It played and sounded really good and stayed in tune well for a hot and humid day. I got alot of compliments on my sound and the guitar itself and it's pretty easy on the eyes also. Love the finish and the compound radius fingerboard! I usually MOD every guitar that I get in some kind of way or another but this
one is what it is and I am going to leave it stock.

I think my backup guitar is Jealous cuz I played this one the whole gig and never took the other one out of its case.

Deep thanks and respect go out to Ted Hunter and the Sweetwater Gang!
