This bright red guitar will make you want to stop and shred. I hear rave reviews on every JS I have ever sold.
This Japanese made Ibanez is simply superb. The neck is a really comfortable "C" shape and has a nice 10in radius fretboard. The prestige fret edge treatment was also a good suprise, very smooth. The guitar plays effortlessly. I'm not a big fan of locking tremolos but this one doesn't bother me one bit; it feels very natural on this guitar and stays in perfect tune. The sound is fantastic for any style of music. If you never have played one image the feel of a really good stratocaster neck with the sustain and bite of a Les paul. Instant classic! Also the imput jack is angled which is brilliant.
This guitar has went beyond my expectations. All my techniques went up a notch the day I got this guitar. I knew if Joe's name was on it I could not go wrong. Simply awesome.
This guitar is a real work of art. The technical aspect of the guitar is exceptional. The neck is absolutely perfect in my opinion. The two humbuckers give great sound with good range of variations. The controls are ideal for the guitar’s intended purpose.
The floating bridge takes time to tune but then it stays in tune. The vibrato or tremolo range is as good as it gets with the bridge floating on a knife edge beam.
The tremolo hits against the high frequency/volume control when the knob is pulled into its upper position. This may be intended and allows the vibrato arm to rest in a fixed location.
This guitar, as any, should spend a few dollars with a good guitar adjustment professional to bring the nut, neck and bridge into perfect adjustment. I adjusted mine to perfection and it is the easiest guitar I have ever played in my life. I am a perfectionist and can tear any guitar apart in a review but this is the best guitar I have ever played. Your only consideration should be if this guitar is in the class of guitars you are interested in. If you want a hollow body or a classical guitar then it might not serve as the only guitar you have. However, I use the guitar for a wide variety of music. I like it for Chet Atkins finger picking style. The most difficult thing I had to learn was to put less pressure on the neck because of the ease of playing.
I would suggest you buy a popular Joe Satriani CD and listen to what this guitar can do. Your limitations as a guitar player will never be because of this guitar.
