Excellent guitar

This is a great guitar. I own several handmade custom guitars from a top Luthier, so I know what a high end guitar plays like. Others have commented that they prefer the AANJ to the neck joint on this model. I respectfully disagree. The neck joint on this model is more solid, which affects tone. I prefer the neck joint on this model over the AANJ. This is easily one of the most beautiful guitars ever made. The neck is "to die for perfect". The fret board, inlay work, and fret work is masterful. The tones from heavy to clean are beautiful. There are a few things on this guitar that I would like different, but because these things are my OPINION, I will not nock it any stars... These things are; Chrome hardware? Really? are we stuck in the 80's? Would look much better with Black or flat Black hardware. Fret board would be better in Ebony, but the Rosewood is excellent. Also, most high end guitars come standard with stainless steel fretwork. These are high quality, but are Nickel Silver. Again, My opinion, so will not knock any stars. In short, Guitar is beautiful, and plays / feels / sounds like a high end guitar. It is one of the very few "production guitars" I would buy. The one I received was set up perfect, and was totally flawless in quality and workmanship. Locking Trem is the best I have ever used (and I have used them all)... A great instrument, I do not think you would be disappointed. I would recommend this guitar to a friend.

Almost Perfect!

The only thing keeping this from 5 stars is the neck joint. It is beyond me (and most Ibanez fans) as to WHY they decided to go with the old 1980's style neck joint instead of the MUCH better AANJ (All Access Neck Joint) that they use now and have been for years. The AANJ allows for much easier access to the higher frets. MUCH easier to play than this style. I assume Ibanez went with the old style because the original JEM Floral pattern guitar had it.Other than that it is awesome! Fantastic tone, great wizard neck and sustain. I really love it and play it ALMOST as much as my JEM 7V (which has the AANJ). Great addition to the JEM line up.
