A lot of bang for the buck!
I have nothing but great things to say about this bass! I have played a lot of basses throughout the years, Fender being my main go to, and this guy has quickly climbed to the upper echelon of my favorites.
The craftsmanship is outstanding and I have found nothing to this point that has made me second guess my choice to go with a Standard instead of the American Standard that I would normally choose. The description and specs filled my needs and this guy stands up to every one. It actually plays better than both of my 5 string American Jazz basses that I have owned.
The fret work is immaculate. The neck is straight and a smooth player. The Sweetwater setup was awesome! I cannot remember a time that I have pulled a bass out of the box and didn't almost immediately have to adjust something, or worse yet, I would have to take it to my local guitar Guru to just make it playable. This guy was awesome from the get go.
The string width is much closer to my American P-Bass Deluxe. I like a wider spread at the nut and bridge position. This is where this bass is a little more like a P than a Jazz.
The finishes are great. I love the flat black. I normally prefer a satin neck, but it doesn't even cross my mind when I'm playing the new Modern Player.
The tone is amazing. My main reason for purchasing a new bass was to get away from the active electronics that I deal with in my other basses. The pickups are beautiful and you can get any tone you would possibly want out of them. No more batteries!!
I couldn't be happier. It's a superb instrument for an amazing price. I can't wait to get it out and let it sing for a crowd!
