    Active Jazz Bass V

This bass is great. The B string is clear and the action is beautiful. neck has a comfortable width. Noisless pickups are worth the money. This bass is overall an amazing mexican made 5 string jazz bass. It's worth the money.

    Amazing bass!

This is my third bass, before this one I had an Ibanez, Schecter and finally I decided for a Fender...

I play pop rock mostly, gospel/worship and some smooth jazz. If you're looking for a versatile bass, Fender should be your first option!

I prefer the American Jazz Bass Deluxe, but the price is expensive, considering that I'll make some upgrades (Pickups and Preamp) once the warranty ends...

In the mean time, I already added a stomp preamp (Eden WTDI) to my rig and I'm about to buy a MXR bass compressor. It's an amazing bass, beautiful sound, beautiful finish, probably I would add more power, that's the only thing that I complain...but it's an amazing bass overall.

My thoughts on the Fender Deluxe Active Jazz Bass

I've had this bass now for about a year now and it has consistently performed to my expectations. it has held up through various weather conditions such as rain, low temperatures, and very high temperatures. The only complaint that I have is that the noiseless pickups didn't exactly work right for me so I occasionally have a hum. Another thing is that the action can be a bit high but it is adjustable. Overall this is a really good instrument that I will probably using for years to come and is worth the money. Sweetwater's service is amazing, only place I like to buy from.

    A few issues

I didn't realize that it had no way of defeating the pre-amp (I mistakenly assumed that every bass had that nowadays) so you'd better keep an eye on battery levels. And of course there is no flip-open battery box.

I had to do some setup work, mostly because I changed strings immediately. Very heavy too. Played 1 gig and then the preamp starting cutting out and squawking so now it's at an authorized service center. I think I'd pass if I had to do it over again, and maybe save up for the American made one. Also, they keep saying that the fingerboard is pau ferro but it sure looks like rosewood to me.
