Fender American Deluxe Jazz Bass - Black Reviews

5.0 stars based on 5 customer reviews

I am a die-hard Music Man Sting Ray fan but this Fender--right out of the box--is one sweet bass!
The slender neck is a joy to play, the body is very comfortable and the versatility of tone is quite remarkable. I can get deep "Motown" tone and a great "clack and grind" Rickenbacker tone all from the single pickup selector knob. Having used this bass on 5 or 6 gigs now, I have yet to even try the passive mode. Great bass! Call Tom Koch at Sweetwater today!!

Fender American Deluxe Jazz Bass - Black

This Bass is ready right out of the box!!! I really don't think you could buy a better Bass, Marshall Oliver and Sweetwater treats you like a friend and not like a number like the other music company's do. So do yourself a favor and order an American made Fender from Sweetwater and you won't be disappointed !!!

    Great bass, great service!

Photos of the actual instrument on the web site is a nice touch, really shows the look of the instrument. I can't say enough about the quality, look, feel, sound a playability of this bass. Arrived in perfect condition and set up ready to play. Customer service has been outstanding each step of the way. Sweetwater exceeded all my expectations and are my go to music store from now on.

Review Of The Fender American Deluxe Jazz Bass (Black)

As usual Fender hits it out of the park.
This 2011 Jazz Bass is everything I have come to expect from Fender USA. Great sound versality with passive/active controls as well as classic Fender style.
    GO GET ONE !!!

    Excellent! I'm done!

I bought an American Standard Jazz and liked it. But I wanted more oomph, so I traded it back to Sweetwater for an American Standard Precision, which I loved! BUT, it made only one sound, the oomph sound, and after a month of playing my left arm was a painful wreck, like tennis elbow. The neck was too big and wide for my 5'10" skeleton and average sized hands. Playing walking bass below the 5th fret did me in. So I traded the bass back to Sweetwater, knowing my aching tendons liked the Jazz bass neck. This time I went for the gold, the American Deluxe, black with maple neck. Right out of the box the bass was perfect. The set up is perfect and I see room to set the action lower than I could on the Am. Std. The sound in passive has more oomph and bark than the Am Std. Then when you switch to Active mode it's just a whole new world with lots of muscle. The intonation is perfect, the neck is fast and slim, the details of quality are perfect and I couldn't be happier. No more trading looking for the "my" bass, I'm done.

Thank you to Sweetwater for allowing me to trade-in gear, thank you to my rep Michael Eads for working patiently with me and giving me the most fair deal possible. And, I want to point out that when Sweetwater gets a trade-in guitar, they go over it with a fine tooth comb. Their standards are very high and they look at these guitars with a magnifying glass. Which means you can trust Sweetwater. I sure do.
