Fast, Aggressive, and Affordable

The Ibanez JBM20 solidbody electric guitar is a more affordable version of Periphery guitarist Jake Bowen's cutting-edge 6-string signature model. Though it carries a lower price tag, the JBM20 cuts no corners. It offers a powerful, cutting duet of Bowen's signature DiMarzio Titan humbucking pickups. The mahogany and maple body is outfitted with an Ibanez Zero-Edge II tremolo system for ultimate pitch control. And the 3-piece maple neck is carved to Ibanez's sleek Wizard III profile. The JBM20 is a devastating instrument without a devastating price.

Classic materials, modern design

The body of Jake Bowen's signature JBM20 solidbody electric guitar is crafted from the tried-and-true combination of mahogany and maple. This imbues the guitar with fat harmonic content and cutting sustain. But the guitar's contours set it apart from many instruments with the same materials. The deeply contoured cutaways offer you easy access to the highest frets. And the guitar's arched top adds a simple air of sophistication to its appearance. The body is then loaded with Ibanez's Zero-Edge II double-locking tremolo that ensures tuning stability and superior pitch control.

A world-famous Ibanez Wizard neck

Ibanez changed the world of electric guitar playing when they introduced their impossibly thin Wizard neck profile. The JBM20 Jake Bowen signature solidbody electric guitar boasts the third generation of this iconic design. Its sleek carve sets the standard for guitarists needing a neck that caters to high-performance styles of playing. The neck's maple construction adds cut and sustain to the instrument's voice, while the 24-fret rosewood fretboard fills the tone with harmonic warmth. And a set of gold locking Gotoh tuners cap it all off.

Powerful and articulate electronics

Ibanez spares no expense on the JBM20's electronics package. It carries the same Jake Bowen signature DiMarzio Titan neck and bridge humbucking pickups as its more expensive kin. These pickups were painstakingly designed to offer Bowen the full-range tone he desires, while nailing the articulation and tight low end that Periphery's music demands. They have a high-output design with great balance between switch positions. And a simple control layout, consisting of a single volume knob and a 3-way switch, make dialing in your sound effortless.

Sleek, Fast Metal Machine!

First, a big thanks to Forrest P. and Rebecca K. at Sweetwater for the excellent service! This guitar is exactly what I was looking for - sleek, fast and easy to play. Not over-complicated, simple layout. I was a little nervous about the fret work being it is not a Prestige, but no worries! The binding is great and the frets are jumbo for easy play. The pick-ups are high output with lots of low end. I had to dial back the gain and up the mids slightly on my amp. The body has a great feel, smooth finish, curve top. No gloss to stick to. The neck is the same, very smooth and fast. The locking tuners are a great touch. The Edge-Zero II trem stays in tune although the fine tunes on my guitar are pretty stiff. I had to lower the action and make some minor adjustments but the action is now super low. On a side note - Edge trems have a "stud lock" down deeper within the stud. You have to loosen it to lower the trem. Just throwing that out there if you are not familiar with Edge trems.
