First Gibson Acoustic
I've been playing Acoustic guitar for many years gigging on weekends since around 2000. I've played Ovations, Taylors, Martins, Mcpherson and have a sweet little Wechter 000 that's fun too. I've always thought Gibson's I've played sounded like they had a pillow stuffed in them. I've always liked the look and songwriter vibe of the J45 in a dark burst. When I saw this Custom Run and the beautiful wood I thought I'd order one and give it a try. Out of the box it is stunning to look at. After about five minutes of playing, I was really impressed with the balance and beautiful voice that rings nicely. It's also got the Gibson thump on the low E string, which is very cool. Looking forward to using it for some Jackson Browne/John Hiatt covers. I plugged it into my Bose L1 and dialed up the Baggs Element tonematch preset and got some very nice results in a few minutes. Very pleased. I'll replace the plastic bridge pins with some Bone pins, put on a set of Medium bottom/Light top elixirs and this will be a great addition to the stable. Thanks to Sales Engineer Sam Rogers for all his help.
