Amazing Sound, Easy Setup

I have had the IP2000 for about 1 year now. I started out with one, then bought a second after verifying the sound was good. I have operated these at a Karaoke show once a week for a year. I regularly get compliments on the sound at the show. Last weekend I ran these outdoors at my families wedding ceremony with about 200 people in attendance. The sound was just unbelievable. I had people complimenting me on the sound and they didn't know the equipment was mine. In an outdoor environment, you don't have room acoustics muddying up the sound, plus the speakers are further away and the sound spreads out so evenly. Here are some things you should know about these: - The midranges are spread throughout the column with tweeter at the top. That's about 5-6 feet of vertical distance. Because of this, you need to be at least 10 feet away from the speaker for all of that sound to blend together. If you are less than 10 feet, you can distinctly hear each part of the speaker depending on the elevation of your ears. The tweeters are especially directional. - Because of the issues mentioned above, these do not work well in very small rooms like you would encounter in an average home. If you're going to DJ inside of someones home, these are probably not the best speakers for the job. - The midrange array is incredibly crisp and has a reasonably wide dispersion angle (120+ degrees). Vocals come through with incredible clarity. The wide dispersion angle helps reduce feedback, however, these are not 100% immune to feedback and they will feedback if the volume is high and the mic is right in front of them. I recommend having a 31 band EQ on your mic to knock out single feedback frequencies. - I'm playing full range music + vocals through these. The subwoofer level and bass EQ settings had to be maxed out to get a reasonable amount of bass out of this. Once this is done, the 12" sub has decent power. With audiences of 100+, I have maxed out these 12" subs though. They are adequate but not without limit. I wish Turbosound would have doubled the wattage on the subs. - I don't use the bluetooth at all. There are no Android or Windows control apps for it. I played around with it at my house and wouldn't trust it for a live show plus the sound quality of bluetooth is inferior to a wired connection anyway.

Received a pair of IP 2000 a couple of weeks ago from Sweet Water. Beyond expectations!Does everything the Bose L1 can do and more. Can run them behind the band with out feedback. I had 6 vocalists and 2 keyboards running at a healthy volume at my last gig - speakers handled it easily. As previous reviewers have stated - you must EQ them properly for the best effect. Blue tooth pairing was confusing until I downloaded the start up guide from the Turbosound website. The guide that comes with the speaker leaves out key steps in syncing the 2 IP's together. Otherwise the speaker works flawlessly - super clean and 1/3 the price of the Bose L1 model II with a B2 bass module. Still waiting for the covers - in the meantime a keyboard bag work well for the towers. The IP 2000 is a great speaker!

after a few gigs

Love this speaker. The sound does not drop off @ 10-20 feet like my powered speakers of the past. This thing is very clear with good thump. The sub is nice sized. I love all the bang for the buck you get with this. I'm a one man band and this thing works perfect for me. Very easy to use. Easy to haul. I get people coming up and just checking out this speaker now. I had to learn that it's volume does not die off, and adjust my sound onstage. I'll end up getting another one of these soon. It sounds great just with my keyboard rig, but also sounds great with my new xair 12 mixer. For what I do as a one man band and DJ sometimes---this thing is perfect.

i play in a blues rnr trio, i bought 2 of the ip2000and I'm very impressed with it, i was bringing a bass amp with me but realized it was needed, the subs sound way better.was thinking of getting a turbo sound 3000 watt sub to go with it....... but i probably don't need it.

Impressive Sound!

I've had my pair of iP2000's for a week, and am thoroughly impressed. As others have observed, the subs arrived in huge cartons, with plenty of foam to protect them. Setup is intuitive: unpack, insert the columns, connect to mixer and enjoy. It took me a while to get the Bluetooth pairing working right, but once I followed the instructions (duh!), they paired up. I was amazed at the stereo imaging from my iPhone and a Pandora stream. These would be great in a large living room. The only adjustments I've made were to scoop out the mid-range into a smiley-face curve and add a few db of sub. On my QSC digital mixer (also great), I connected an SM58 and did a quick ring-out by notching out a couple of hot frequencies; they're in my small garage studio, and feedback had been a recurring problem in the past.I'm so happy to replace my 16-year-old system of two 15" mains, four monitor wedges, two heavy amps and lots of cables with this. My back needed a break. While the subs are heavy at around 65 lbs, they have convenient handles on two sides for easy, safe lifting.
