    Outstanding Metal Pedal

I have been searching for a distortion sound that can cover 80's - current metal tones. I also needed a pedal that can be insane heavy. This pedal does it all. FYI set it to tight setting to maximize tonal quality. This pedal through a tube head produces professional quality distortion. The true bypass with high voltage operation is what the pros use, so this is also a big plus with this pedal. Look around at all the pedals you want, but I have also and highly reccomend this pedal if you play rock, metal, classic rock, or thrash. I actively play and have for over 20 years. The set up I play through is a Peavey VYPR 100W tube head and a 4x12 Peavey valveking cab. I also play it through a Marshall DSL100H tube head and Marshall 1960 4x12 cab. This pedal delivers consistantly with either gear. I also use a Gibson Les Paul studio with burstbucker pros, a Fender Telecaster, and Krammer V with floyd rose and alnico 4 pickups. Each guitar still keeps its own nice distinct sound with pedal. And of course monster cables.

    versatile metal

I've had a couple "metal" pedals that were one-trick-ponies. This one is not. You can dial up many different heavy tones with the eq controls. Also, the gain actually changes as you go up or down, some metal pedals you can hardly hear a difference in gain settings. "Tight" is awesome. "Loose" just makes it sound like you're using the neck pickup only. That setting is not too useful for me.
