Blackstar HT112 - 50W 1x12" Cabinet Reviews
Blackstar's HT-112 is a real mighty extension cabinet! Perfect for Blackstar's HT Series of recording and practice amps, the HT-112 sports a Blackstar-designed Blackbird 12" speaker and handles up to 50 watts. You won't believe how well this cab projects, and its speaker gives you a tight low end and a very full sound overall. Like the other products in the Blackstar line, this cab is built road-tough. Whether you're recording at lower volumes or looking for the perfect addition to your practice rig, you'll absolutely love what the HT-112 extension cab does for your sound.

LITTLE GIANT
I paired this up with the HT-1 head and could not be happier! this baby has TONE...
speaker is awesome and the cabinet is built like a tank
Excellent Cab
I, for one, don't believe on breaking the bank for a plywood box with a speaker in it, regardless of who's name may be on it. It's with that ideology that I went after this cab. I have a Blackstar HT-1RH (which is completely awesome) so I am familiar with their build quality. But enough blather, this thing is excellent. It fills a room quite nicely, and when paired with the HT-1RH, is a tonal monster. I was skeptical of the Blackbird speaker but I really like it, it brought a lot out of my pickups. Get it! You won't regret it!
Awesome
I'm not going to lie, at first I was worried about the size. However, this amp is LOUD. It has brilliant low end tones and suits me perfectly, (I play in a grunge/punk/emo band). For the price and the quality, this is definitely the amp to get. If i can save up enough, i will definitely get another for the future.
Excellent Small Speaker Cabinet
Purchased this speaker cabinet to use with my new Hayden Mofo 30 watt Tube Amp Head. The sound thru this Duo is simply Amazing! I play Slide Guitar and it sounds absolutely Killer! I have only used it Live a couple of times so far but both times Musicians I know and respect remarked how Great it sounds. Thanks Sweetwater and Blackstar!
Came for the cabinet, stayed for the speaker!
I bought this used with every intention of replacing the speaker, as the one bad review advises. But turns out I like it. I have an EVM12-L in an ugly, homemade speaker box, and wanted to upgrade the look. I thought I'd just swap the drivers and then sell the old cab. But I did a shootout with the Blackstar, the EV, a Fender Special Design 10", and a CTS 12". The main amp was a Fender Super Champ XD, which also housed the 10" speaker, which I unplugged to test the others. They are all in different cabinets of course, so take my results with a grain of salt. The guitar was a Les Paul Classic. The CTS speaker had the brightest tone, lacking bottom. I like it for certain things, usually in a pair along with a (stereo) Blackstar ID:Core 40 solid-state head, but it felt brittle in comparison to the others when plugged into the XD. The 10" filled things out a bit, but still lacked a little heaviness while losing quite a bit of sparkle. The EV had a touch more sparkle than the 10" but added back the rest of the bass and a little volume, maybe a little too much bass. Nevertheless, filling out the XD's tone is what I have it for. The Blackbird driver in the Blackstar accomplished nearly the same thing without overdoing the bass, and may just be the overall winner in my book. It also paired up better than the EV does with the Blackstar amp and one of the CTSes, adding body but not drowning out the CTS, which adds more highs. As usual, I'll probably end up hoarding all the speakers instead of keeping the herd population stable.
Very good sounding, inexpensive cab
Good quality construction, fairly light. The Blackbird speaker sounds good. Only thing is no side mounted handles, but that's a minor thing. Very nice open back cab at a very good price.
Great Cab, Awful Speaker
I bought this for use with my 15 Watt Blackheart Handsome Devil head. Hooked it up and it didn't sound as good as my 5 Watt Blackheart Little Giant Combo amp with Eminence speaker. Played the Handsome Devil through the combo amp Eminence and it blew the cheap Blackbird speaker away, so I replaced the Blackbird with a Celestion Greenback in the Blackstar cabinet. Now it's what I was hoping for. I've read other reviews critical of the Blackbird speaker, it's a dud in my opinion but it lets them offer a very low priced cabinet. So if you buy this I would trash the horrible Blackbird speaker immediately and replace it with something that sounds good.
