Schecter Hellraiser C-7 Passive - Dragon Burst Reviews

7-string Solidbody Electric Guitar with Mahogany Body, Quilted Maple Top, Mahogany Neck, Rosewood Fingerboard, and 2 Humbucking Pickups - Dragon Burst

The Schecter Diamond Series Hellraiser C-7 7-string Passive's looks put it on par with instruments far in excess of its price point. But sonically it's in a class by itself. A pair of Brimstone-7 humbucking pickups keeps your amp cooking while keeping your tone clear and detailed, while a push-pull pot lets you split the coils for a new sonic palette. Getting up and down the fingerboard is a snap thanks to a thin "C" neck profile, and the heel carve gives you easy access to all 24 frets. The Schecter Diamond Series Hellraiser C-7 Passive plays great and sounds massive.

As Eye-Catching as It is Comfortable

By Austin from Iowa on August 8, 2017

This guitar attracted me for two reasons: its appearance (dragonburst finish, quilted maple top, and inlays) as well as its specs. After about nine months of ownership, I remain impressed by these qualities. The finish is beautiful, and the binding around the body and headstock looks excellent as well.

But, of course, the real draw for this guitar is its playability. This is the first seven-string I have owned, and while the extra fretboard width does take some time to fully get used to, I find rythym and lead playing alike to be extremely easy on this guitar. The baritone scale length provides a comfortable amount of tension for me, but if you are a player who primarily uses 24.75 inch scale guitars, you may find this a bit uncomfortable at first. The pickups are nice and hot while retaining a pleasant roundness and dynamic range for clean paying, a style which is aided further by the coil-splitting tone knob.

The only real problem I have had with this guitar is a bit of ringing behind the bridge by the lowest string, which, while sometimes annoying, does not affect my ability or want to play this guitar at home or in a live setting.

To summarize, this guitar is an incredible value for the asking price, and I would highly recommend it to someone looking to make the foray into extended-range instruments or someone who is looking to add another quality axe to their arsenal!

Awsome

First off I got to say this is the most beautiful guitar I've ever owned! These pickups sound really good too. I was able to fit a .70 gauge string on the low B string which was awesome! Its just a all around a awesome guitar! I'm very proud to own this beautiful guitar! The neck is a little thick but after hours of playing my fret hand got used to it. I am very happy with my purchase

Wow!!

This axe gets it for sure. Looks way better in person for sure. The Brimstone pickups are definitely legit for metal. Hot hot hot!! Sounds excellent. Only reason I don't give it a full 5 stars is the fact that the fatter neck hurts my hand. Probably just a 7 string thing. My first and only. Never played one for comparison. But hot and beautiful nonetheless. And of course Sweetwater is great to work with. Thanx Sean. Ext.1688
