THE finest sounding instrument in Gibson Acoustic's lineup.

By Dan Fisher on September 1, 2013 Music Background: Pro Musician, and always a student!

My rating is not an exaggeration! My mind is not only blown by this guitar; which is loud, articulate, inspiring, and full of the soul and inspiration usually only associated with vintage instruments; but also by Sweetwater's customer service. Their attention to detail on any order small or large is extremely impressive and appreciated.

Amazing Guitar

By Nick Beach from North Carolina on February 22, 2013 Music Background: Hobbyist

I have had this guitar for two years now, and I love it more now than I did when I bought it. I honestly had no intention of buying this guitar, I actually wanted a similar style Martin, but when I picked this guitar up in the store and played it, I bought it on the spot. This is by far the best sounding acoustic I have ever heard. One thing I really love about it is that it is a very loud guitar. I have always played very softly, and the fact that I play without a pick makes this even worse when playing with others, but the AJ really projects well and helps me get heard. I love my Advanced Jumbo, and even though I've only had mine for two years it's already becoming an old friend.

Absolutely Stunning!

I'd been considering several guitars and, with the guidance of sales engineer, Charlie Davis, decided on the Advanced Jumbo. Everything about this guitar is absolutely fantastic! This is my first purchase of a Gibson acoustic. I'm thinking it won't be my last!

GREAT GUITAR

By Burke Long from North Carolina on December 16, 2012 Music Background: Pro Musician

I bought this guitar from Sweetwater at a very fair price. I am a fulltime musician and have used this guitar as my main acoustic for the last 4 years.I have been impressed with the overall tone and it has held up great after very heavy road use. I have a K and K pickup installed and it is a consistantly great sounding instrument through the pa..

A constant source of inspiration

By Manuel Romero from San Diego, CA, USA on December 9, 2007 Music Background: Hobbyist

I bought this amazing instrument after several weeks of discussion and generous feedback from Sweetwater Expert David Hess. Even though I have auditioned a few of these beauties in the past, at the moment of buying on-line I relied firmly on his expertice: he selected the right guitar for me.The sound of the Gibson Advanced Jumbo is incredible; it has a bright ringing tone, with a lot of sustain and powerful bass; it responds beautifully to fingerstyle, strumming and flatpicking. I can play it very loud, or take full advantage of its warm sound when playing some blues or songs in the singer/songwriter style. This guitar has revealed to me as a great source of inspiration, and I am sure that it will open and sound even better in the months to come. Thanks again, David!

Tone you can feel

By honedawg from KY on December 9, 2007 Music Background: Songwriter, Home Studio Owner

I had been searching for 2+ years for an new acoustic. I tried just about every model in the $1K-3K range but couldn't find anything comparable to my '84 Sigma. There was that one Borgeoius but it was $5K. Anyway, I had pretty much quit and was going to save up for a hand built when I happened on this Gibson AJ(built in July '06). As soon as I picked it up I loved it. It had a huge tone I could feel throughout my body while I played without the extra boomy bass of most loud guitars. In the din, there was still a good balance of jangle from the treble strings. Talk about resonance! And this was with light strings (12's).There were a few cosmetic flaws, the rosewood back and sides didn't book match well,a few sanding glitches on the neck @ the 16th fret, and what's up with the plastic bridge pins? One thing to note, I played another AJ that didn't sound nearly as good so make sure you play a few before you buy. Also, since it is sooo loud, you have to experiment with mic position for to truely capture this awesome sounding guitar.
