The All-New Hammerfall!

HDSP 9652 is the long-awaited successor of the well-known PCI card Project Hammerfall (DIGI9652). Like the original Hammerfall, HDSP 9652 offers 3 x ADAT optical I/O, ADAT-Sync In, SPDIF I/O and word clock I/O. On top, there are 2 MIDI I/Os and TotalMix, a DSP-based real-time mixer/router!

The HDSP 9652's Secure BIOS Technology allows hardware updates via software/driver without any risk. And thanks to its unique 'Zero CPU Load' technology Hammerfall DSP guarantees highest performance and lowest latency on both notebooks and desktops!

Hammerfall also supports Expansion Boards (EXB). Two internal ADAT inputs and two internal ADAT outputs allow you to realize up to 16 analog inputs, 16 analog outputs, or up to two TDIF ports directly inside the computer.

Features:
  • 3 x ADAT digital I/O, based on RME's reliable Bitclock PLL
  • 1 x SPDIF digital I/O, based on RME's reliable DIGI96 technology
  • 1 x Breakout cable for coaxial SPDIF operation
  • 1 x Word clock I/O (BNC) on included expansion board
  • 1 x ADAT Sync In (9-pin D-type) for sample accurate transfers
  • 2 x MIDI I/O, 32 channels high-speed MIDI via breakout cable
  • S/MUX poured in hardware: 12 channels 96 kHz/24 bit for record and playback on ADAT optical

Solid as a rock

Going from my old Firepod to this...night and day. Have it hooked up to a couple DigimaxFS and they seem (at least to my ears) to be clearer and hotter. No pops, cracks, skips, NOTHING but pure clean unaltered recorded sound. Only thing I had a slight problem with was finding the correct routing to get sound. The matrix and mixconsole are a little confusing at first, but after you study what everything does it makes perfect sense. Looking forward to having this in my setup for years to come.

RME = WOW

I purchased the RME Hammerfall card from Sweetwater for use with Cubase SX 2.2 and the card is rock solid. It was easy to install, no clicks, no pops... Smooth!!! By far the best audio card I have ever used. I am using a Carillon 2.5 Ghz, 1 Gig Ram, Windows XP SP1 computer.

Sweetwater Advice

Carson McClain

This is a serious card for serious music producers. I sell this mainly to composers and soundscape artists. Why? Pristine audio quality. This has plenty of digital I/O and it has word clock, how perfect! If you have a computer specifically set up as a sampler or if you need more I/O this is the card to get. I have sold this card to some of the top producers and performers and they have been very happy with this.
