A Streamlined and High-performance Firebird

The Gibson Firebird Studio 2017 HP is a solidbody electric guitar that is crafted for non-nonsense rock 'n' roll. The guitar's slab mahogany body offers a warm and biting midrange character. The SlimTaper Soloist neck profile is extremely fast, while the fast-access heel design offers great access to the higher frets. And the dual ceramic Gibson 496R and 500T humbucking pickups deliver enough output to drive your amp into rich breakup. The Gibson Firebird Studio 2017 HP also boasts other brand-new features aimed at coaxing out your best and most technical playing.

Gibson Firebird Studio 2017 HP Electric Guitar at a Glance:
  • Plek'd for precision playability
  • Straightforward construction
  • Slim neck profile with wider Soloist neck width
  • Powerful pickups plus HP appointments
Plek'd for precision playability

This Firebird Studio 2017 HP feels fast and precise, thanks in large part to Plek processing. Typically reserved for top-dollar custom guitars, this process levels the frets with pinpoint precision, providing you with the most playable fretboard you're likely to own. Each note rings loud and clear, and the fret edges feel smooth as silk.

Straightforward construction

The Firebird Studio 2017 HP shares the same body contours as the legendary vintage instruments in the same line. But the Studio HP separates itself from the pack with a no-nonsense look and feel that puts raw power above aesthetic appointments. The slab mahogany body does away with the raised neck-through center. And dual humbucking pickups replace the common Firebird mini humbuckers. Finally, you'll notice the lack of binding and trapezoid inlay. This is a mean and stripped-down machine.

Slim neck profile with wider Soloist neck width

The Gibson Firebird Studio 2017 HP sports a fast, wide neck with Gibson's famous SlimTaper profile, which is as perfect for modern players who push the speed limit as it is for rhythm players that aren't fans of baseball bat-style carves. The wider Soloist fretboard width moves the low and high E strings in from the edges to give you more room for big bends and tapping. It's a great balance for players who love Firebird tone but prefer a faster, thinner neck.

Powerful pickups plus HP appointments

Two of Gibson's best-loved humbuckers - a 496R in the neck position and a 500T in the bridge - give the Firebird Studio 2017 HP the power, punch, and clarity of Gibson's harder-rocking designs. And every guitarist at Sweetwater has fallen for this Firebird's high-performance appointments, including Supreme Grip speed knobs, next-generation G Force tuning system, a titanium adjustable zero-fret nut, and a chrome Tune-o-matic bridge with titanium saddles and stopbar.

Gibson Firebird Studio 2017 HP Electric Guitar Features:
  • Straightforward take on the legendary Firebird
  • Mahogany construction is mid-focused and warm
  • Powerful Gibson 496R and 500T ceramic humbucking pickups
  • Minimal ornamentation for a streamlined appearance
  • Updated Gibson G Force tuning system
  • Wider Soloist neck for faster playing
  • Fast-access neck heel offers great access to the upper frets
  • Titanium zero-fret nut can quickly be adjusted to your preferences
  • Plek'd for precision playability
The Firebird Studio 2017 HP is a great addition for a rock 'n' roll guitar arsenal.
