Hartke HD75 1x12" 75-watt Bass Combo Amp Reviews
Hartke proves that great tone doesn't need to cost a ton with the Hartke HD75 bass combo amp. Pushing 75 watts of power through a single 12" speaker and 1" tweeter, the HD75 is perfect for any rehearsal space or gig. When you're gigging out and about, durability is a must, and the HD75 will easily withstand being lugged from gig to gig. The Hartke HD75 bass combo amp is a great choice when you don't need a ton of power, but you also don't want to sacrifice tone.

I own this amp and I LOVE IT!
So Hartke is owned by Samson which is owned by Sam Ash Music. Now WHY would Sweetwater and GC BOTH sell Hartke gear?
Because they are awesome! Their amps and cabs just sound freaking awesome! Punchy bass tones for weeks not silly days!
My primary instrument is guitar, but without bass, what's the point?!!? So I picked up some bass gear and love just how much bass means to any arrangement. And this Hartke 75 watt combo is plenty for rehearsal or in the studio. The equalizer allows you to tweak your tone quickly. Loud enough for an acoustic drum kit, it will keep up! I absolutely LOVE this bass amp and would recommend it to anyone!
P.s. Occasionally I plug my guitar pedalboard rig into this amp, just to hear my pedalboard without any additional flavors, it's an awesome clean platform in a small setting (you know, where a Fender Twin would blow you into the next county?). Bang for your bucks, you'll be hard pressed to beat Hartke bass gear! And sometimes, even for guitar or keyboard.
Great little combo
I had searched for a while for just a little combo amp to learn some guitar-player bass riffs. My SE, Marshall turned me onto this and it is fantastic. The dual drivers make it very punchy and bites really well in the higher frequencies. I added a little JHS Compressor and that did the trick.
Bass combo
Great little amp. Perfect size, packs plenty of punch, smooth low end. Light enough to carry anywhere.
Pleasantly Suprised!
I was shopping for an Amp that would be able to cover several needs. First, it needed to be powerful enough for a garage band or small gig, needed a fantastic tone for the price range, needed to be priced very reasonably, needed to be endorsed by a well-known artist.
I got everything I wanted in a Bass Amp with this one!!
Check this out, turn it up to 5, thumb the Low E hard and it will vibrate the whole house! ****!
Endorsed by Victor Wooten himself, good job, Brother!
So Awesome!
First, I an not a slap player, I play mostly straight ahead 80s rock etc. I agree with all the positive reviews. Particularly, this has some amazing rounded tone right out of the box, I bumped up bass dial a little, bumped up bass a little with the graphic eq, and found my sweet spot. Wasn't sure what to expect, but I am super happy I picked this 75W.
I actually own a 750 Watt GK and Ampeg 4x10..but Im not in a band at present, and wanted something with low watts just to practice in my room with backing tracks. I found that firing up the 750W GK uses a lot of energy, even If I play at low volumes. An electrician explained to me- by default, its like turning on 750 Watts worth of light bulbs, even though your volume is at 1 or 2 or 3. So I opted for this 75W, and I am just blown away at how nice this Hartke 75 watt sounds, Nice round tone, don't have to crank it to get saturation etc. The amp is well built, has a professional look and feel, and the price is generous for the offering. And i actually find comfort in that it is a little heavy, its not junk!
If you looking for a Rock amp to Jam with backing tracks at decent volume and EXCELLENT tone, you won't go wrong with this Hartke 75W.
Great practice amp
Just got mine. Love the tone. Goes really loud for 75 watts. It's a bit heavy but I don't plan on moving it much so no big deal. Seems like a good amp for the price.
Fantastic
My bassist bought this for string practice and I was so impressed by it, that I got one for the studio. Trust me when I say you can get THAT tone with it. Between myself and the bass player, we have about 7 basses and they all shine through the Hartke. 10/10.
Exceptional amp
I can remember in the late 1980's when Hartke came out with their aluminum speaker cabinets, it was a big deal for bass players because they sounded great (and even looked great). However, when they started making amplifier heads they were not very good, so I was a little reluctant to buy this combo. But now in 2020 they've solved that problem and this amp sounds terrific. I was extremely pleasantly surprised by the quality.
Much more amp than I expected
Have played guitar for decades and decided to pick up a bass and amp to fill out backing tracks. I got this amp for home/studio use and was surprised how much amp this is for the price. I have yet to turn it up past 3 and it booms. I am very pleased and easily recommend. Thanks Chris Nunley for all you do.
Another awesome Hartke
Amazing amp! Sounds monstrous for it's size and great lows on my Gibson EB 5 string bass! I haven't played a bad Hartke amp.
Steroidal 12"
Playing gigs all of the time I wanted something smaller for jam nights we host in a local bar. I predominantly use a HA 3500 so I went with this little guy. The power and clarity that this little guy has impressed both myself and all of the jammers that use so much, that I now use on venues that I had been using my HyDrive 15" on. I rarely use the volume above 50% and can keep up with guitarists using single "12 tube amps or less. Having both linear tone controls and a 7 band EQ allows you get the sound you want. I would agree that the power switch being located on the back of the amp as opposed to the top on of the control panel with the other controls is...weird..but workable. If you want something easier to lug around or play venues that don't require 150w of boom, this am will give you ALL you need. Takes a beating in the back of my Frontier 4x4 and keeps on ticking.
Sounds like butter
Bought this amp to go with a fretless Kala U-Bass and I'm not disappointed. Had several compliments of the amp on the first gig and another musican, after playing the rig, commented that it "sounds like butter". Have yet to crank it pass 5...has lots of power and punch as well as a great eq. Only fault is there is no ON indicator light on the control panel.
my bass amp
Great sounding amp;
Excellent Amp!
I've been gigging small venues with this amp for a couple of years. These Hartke HD combos are one of the best values in the marketplace. Simple and solid, Yes, a bit of weight but nothing vibrates besides the speaker. Very good EQ.
Installed a set of casters on the amp and it's good to go!
