Portable, punchy bass tones!

Hartke proves that great tone doesn't need to cost a ton with the Hartke HD25 bass combo amp. Pushing 25 watts of power through a single 8" speaker, the HD25 is perfect for bedroom practice sessions or small, intimate gigs. When you're gigging out and about, durability is a must, and the HD25 will easily withstand being lugged from gig to gig. The Hartke HD25 bass combo amp is a great choice when you don't need a ton of power but don't want to sacrifice tone.

The combination of paper and aluminum cone makes for an incredible sonic combo

So what makes the Hartke HD25 bass combo stand apart from other similarly priced amps? It's all revolving around the HyDrive-design speaker. The HyDrive-design speaker uses paper around the outside for traditional warm, round tones. But the middle is aluminum, adding trademark Hartke zing. The result is a portable bass amp that offers the best of both worlds. Sweetwater knows a thing or two about bass, and Hartke's HD25 bass combo is garnering some well-deserved attention around here.

Great amp awesome sound

O Tay

I've been playing bass for around 25 years. I have my bass rig in my basement and got tired of dragging it up and down the stair cases every time I wanted to play in a different room. So I thought to just get a cheap practice amp for when I practice upstairs, Something easy. I remember when I was younger, most practice amps and even most combo bass amps didn't sound good. Bass amp technology wasn't a big market. I guess they have made some progress, this little bass amp sounds great ! Gone are the days of sounding like you are beating against a tin can when you turn the volume past 5 on a practice amp.. This sounds close to pro gear. I was worried that "solid state" amps were going to sound cold. This sounds warm and flavorful ! It must be the Paper/ Aluminum speaker cone. I'm impressed. I wish it had an effects loop, only complaint.

Great practice amp

I Love the tone from this amp. When I received it the amp had a dirty volume pot that was scratchy. I turned it back and forth several times and it cleared up. It's 25 watts so don't really expect to use it in an electric band unless you mic it. It's heavy for it's size and appears to be very high quality. It has that great Hartke tone like the big amps and I am very pleased so far. But I don't expect it to be anymore than a practice amp, I use a 3500 (4x10 and a horn) to gig and record with, But I wouldn't object to putting a mic on this one to record with.
Music background: + years session and perfomance musician.
