Resonant Tone with Incredible Sustain

The Washburn HB35 semi-hollowbody electric guitar is a prime example of how versatile these semi-acoustic instruments can be. You get the warm, resonant sound you'd expect from a hollowbody, with enhanced sustain and note definition from the maple center block. The center block reduces resonant feedback too, one reason Sweetwater thinks it's great for the stage. For tonal flexibility, two humbuckers with their own volume and tone controls are ready to rock. Long story short, you've got a great guitar for almost any style when you're holding the Washburn HB35 semi-hollowbody.

Washburn HB35 Semi-hollowbody Electric Guitar at a Glance:
  • Long maple center block enhances your tone
  • Elegant appointments throughout
  • Since 1883, Washburn has been producing exceptional instruments
Long maple center block enhances your tone

You get a lot of tonal bang for your buck with the Washburn HB35, thanks in part to its maple center block. The center block allows the otherwise-hollowbody to resist resonant-frequency feedback. That means you can rock out louder, with more gain, without your amplifier squealing out of control. Maple is a snappy tonewood that enhances your note definition, clarity, and sustain.

Elegant appointments throughout

Washburn designed the HB35 semi-hollowbody with a decidedly vintage vibe. Multi-laminate binding adorns the body, F-holes, and fretboard for an incredibly smooth appearance. While it plays incredibly well, it doesn't hurt that the HB35 is a great-looking guitar too.

A HUGE steal!

I have wanted one of these HB35's (in wine red) ever since I saw one for the first time in '99 when I started playing. They are a ridiculous value. The binding is really well done, and the carved flame maple top loos stunning. The pickups are not the duncans, but they sound really good, and I am considering leaving them alone. I play blues, bluegrass, country, rockabilly, metal, you name it, I'm probably into it. The huge maple block through the middle of the guitar prevents ANY feedback. I figured I would crank the gain to 11 just to to be funny, and it actually sounded better than my $1300 ESP! I have a Paul Reed Smith singlecut and an American deluxe ash tele that are my main goffice toss, but I can not put this thing down. I will say, if you are a huge hollow body nut, this thing definitely hastill that tone, but it is not as obvious as a Gretsch or high quality Gibson, due to that maple block. With that thougj, if you own any of those, you know that fighting noise eve with a little bit of dirt can be an uphill battle, so it, I'm on, is the best of both worlds. The neck is very "traditional medium" sized neck, comparable to a gretsch or 60s Gibson. Pull the trigger and buy this from sweetwater! Thanks Dan for the AMAZING customer service and hooking me up with one!

Can't loose

Purchased this guitar from a dealer friend when i was looking for a ES335. He strongly suggested I give it a try before I made a move on a used beat up Gibson 335. I was blown away to say the least. First off the fit and finish were flawless, the appointment were also flawless and numerous. Here is were the guitar excelled..... TONES. I am a metal player who dabbles in Jazz and country also. I play through JSX's and 5150's and the guitar screamed was punchy and articulate with plenty of cream on tap for raunchy solo's. What surprised me was how well it balanced out when I backed off the volume and changed to clean channels on my rigs. I own many Gibsons and will always, and may even one day buy that 335 but I love this guitar and use it live often. Other players both compliment it's looks and tones. Best $600 I ever spent on a guitar.
