Cool Concert Uke

The Gretsch G9110 Concert Standard ukulele is tons of fun - you'll absolutely adore it! Why? Start with the tonewoods. The G9110's top, back, and sides are made of mahogany, long prized for its tonal warmth and projection. The G9110's concert-sized body serves up surprisingly robust volume. You also get the tonal enhancement and great looks of Gretsch's "open pore" natural semi-gloss finish. And you won't believe how easily the G9110 plays, thanks to its comfortable neck and rosewood fingerboard. Start playing Gretsch's G9110 Concert Standard ukulele and you won't want to stop!

Tonewoods and Gretsch's "open pore" finish

The Gretsch G9110 Concert Standard ukulele's organically warm tone comes courtesy of its mahogany top, back, and sides. The mahogany neck and rosewood fingerboard is an ideal combination for optimizing the transfer of energy from the strings to the body, for a deep and rich sound. Gretsch's natural "open pore" semi-gloss finish enhances the G9110's tone, while imbuing it with understated good looks.

The concert-sized ukulele

The concert ukulele - one size larger than the original soprano - was introduced in the 1920s as an "enhanced" soprano, sporting a louder, deeper tone with more body and richness. You'll find - much to your delight - that the Gretsch G9110 gives you impressive volume for its diminutive size, along with deliciously warm and clear ukulele tone.

Gretsch legacy in American music

The Gretsch G9110 Concert Standard ukulele transports you back to Gretsch's roots in American music. Everyone knows Gretsch electric guitars and drums, but did you know that got their start in 1883 as a banjo company? It wasn't long before Gretsch was making mandolins, ukuleles, and eventually flat-top guitars, contributing to the very roots of American music. So when you pick up a Gretsch ukulele, you're holding more than a great uke, you're holding a piece of American music history.

Gretsch G9110 Concert Standard ukulele Features:
  • Concert sized mahogany body and top for robust volume and rich tone

  • Bone nut and saddle, 16 frets (12 to body), 15" scale

Great Uke

I tested out several Ukes and narrowed it down to this one vs the Cordoba. I went with this one more for aesthetics and from some of the reviews I read. It's neck profile is nice and low. The sound is great. Warm and loud if I want it to be. Purchased a Gator case to go with it and it fits perfectly.

Gretsch 9110

I have a 1927 Martin soprano given to me by my father-in-law in mint condition. I wanted a larger ukulele and came upon your G9110 and to me it looked like my martins big brother. It plays beautifully. I have installed a low G string and it sounds even better. Nice doing business with Sweetwater.
