This traditional acoustic instrument celebrates Gretsch's roots in American music

Part of their Roots collection, the G9120 gives you a chance to own one of Gretsch's earliest instruments. Everyone knows Gretsch electric guitars and drums, but did you know that they got their start in 1883 as a banjo company? It wasn't long before Gretsch was making mandolins, ukuleles, and eventually flat-top guitars, contributing to the very roots of American music. So when you pick up a Gretsch G9120, you're holding more than a great ukulele, you're holding a piece of American music history.

Tenor body offers you a rich voice and a comfortable feel

Perfect for a wide range of music, the Gretsch G9120 ukelel's tenor body and longer scale makes it one of the most comfortable ukes to play. Its deeper body also gives it excellent projection and richer undertones, making a fit perfectly with the sound of most acoustic guitars. If you're new to this fun and expressive instrument, then the G9120 is an excellent choice for you.

Mahogany provides the perfect combination of warm tone and powerful projection

To provide the G9120 ukelele the warmth and projection of their classic models, Gretsch crafted its top, back, and sides from mahogany. Along with a bone nut and saddle, as well as a real rosewood bridge and fingerboard, the G9120 gives you the bright sound you'd expect from a traditional uke.

Gretsch G9120 Acoustic Ukulele Features:
  • A fantastic ukulele that re-creates one of the fundamental instruments of American music and celebrates Gretsch's heritage
  • Comfortable tenor body adds extra depth and resonance to your sound
  • Mahogany top, back, sides, and neck provide excellent warmth and projection
  • Real rosewood bridge combined with a bone nut and saddle adds life to your tone and lets each note ring out naturally
  • Fitted gig bag included
Capture the sound of a classic Gretsch instrument with a G9120 acoustic ukulele!

Nice tone, stays in tune

Especially for the price, this is a fabulous uke. It looks sharp and plays easy for those of us with stocky fingers. It projects well for such a small instrument, and is a joy to play. The bag it comes with is not padded, so you'll want either a padded bag or a hard case for it. Even without a useful bag, the price you pay for a quality instrument is more than fair. One thing not mentioned in the product details here is that the tuning pegs are actual Grover geared pegs (Grover® 9NB Sta-Tite™ Geared, according to Gretsch). These are a step up from the stock friction tuners you'll find on less expensive ukes, and they stay in tune pretty well. Very happy with this uke. I am pondering going the low G string route, because I think that would sound pretty awesome on this one.

Gretsch Ukulele

This ukulele is very well made and sounds amazing. I'd expect nothing less from Gretsch.

Perfect Fit

Great sound, plays with ease, has excellent tone woods and it delivers everything it says it does. It is fun to play, easy to wrap around and is one of the few instruments that doesn't need a shoulder strap. The gig bag makes it easy to tote. I strap it on to my back and peddle around town with it ready to be played anytime anywhere. IT'S A PERFECT FIT.

I really like this little dude.I'm a guitarist and am tall with big hands which is why I chose the tenor over the smaller ukes. I haven't played the high end ukes but I can tell you that this one plays in tune (Hallelujah!), has a nice action and it still surprises me how nice the tone is out of such a little box. Very impressive. My only other uke is a vintage baritone. This one matches very well aesthetically with its dark retro finish. Workmanship is good. The fret ends are not real smooth....but you spent $130 so...Cool gig bag. Nice work, Gretsch.

Great ukulele I love it! Sub-par case

The ukulele tunes easily and has a great sound. It's a really beautiful instrument. However, you should count on getting a different case, the gig bag this ukulele comes with is flimsy at the best of times.
