THE BEST INTERFACE ON THE PLANET

By Michael Gutierrez from Cicero, IL on July 14, 2016 Music Background: Recording, Production, Engineering

I also received my Goliath in the first batch and immediately hooked it up and started tracking drum tracks and playing with the on board DSP. This interface is amazing, The lows are deep and rich and the highs are crisp and clear. This interface has features that make it indispensable for any recording situation. The Antelope clocking technology is superb and it is clearly evident in the sound. Even for playback, this interface makes MP3 and Streaming music's flaws clearly evident. This interface will blow you away !!

Shout out to my Sales Rep Anthony Logano !!! He made magic happen and i was able to acquire this Goliath in exchange for the equally impressive Orion Studio.

Who Doesn't Need This?

By Thomas W. from Columbus, OH on June 30, 2016

I guess I was lucky enough to receive the first Goliath. I have only had it a day, but I can make a few preliminary statements.. First: support. The box was barely opened, when I got my first email from Antelope. (No exaggeration, it wasn't even plugged in when the "new email" chimed.) In 30+ years of professional digital audio, I have never experienced that before. I would have greatly appreciated such a response from so many of the mega-companies that I had spent 30x or more on their gear. Next, technology. This is a superb unit. We could stop at the I/O and be done with the review. But there is a lot more in this great product. Antelope has kicked the game up a few notches with this product. This unit will leave competitors scrambling (you all know who they are, and I have owned them for many years..) To be honest, an "in-depth" review isn't possible at this point, because I have had so little time with it. However, reflecting back upon so many years in digital audio, I can think of only a handful of game-changing products. This could easily be one of them. If you need great preamps (who doesn't?) If you need major I/O (who doesn't?) If you need stable clock (nah, I won't say that again.) Here's the bottom line...turn the unit around and look at the back panel. Then, go to your other favorites. See how they match up. (BTW, I paid sticker for this thing, so no disclaimer is necessary.) Wherever you find yourself in the music production "food chain," if you need an interface, (OK, I'll say it again, "Who doesn't?") This is your go-to guy. Hope this helps.

Excellent Swiss Army Knife of Interfaces

By Chris Hovey from Peoria, Illinoi on December 7, 2017 Music Background: jazz piano student

I really can't say enough good things about this interface. The AD/DA conversion is extremely clean and the FPGA FX are out of this world. It sounds very warm and analoguey and with the FX being FPGA-based, there is no latency. There were a few minor software bugs that were fixed after a firmware update and it has been smooth sailing since. I use it as a mobile recording rig for jazz and classical repertoire and it would be at home on location or in a studio.

Antelope Goliath

By Max Steel on March 29, 2017 Music Background: Recording Engineer

The Goliath Sound interface is Awesome. The pres are clean and tight on everything. My only concern is drivers for windows 10 thunderbolt, And the sofware interface is slow. At this price point everything should be on point. Other units that cost 1/3 of this have there acts together when it come to drivers and the software interface.

Excellent Unit, Worth Every Penny, Still Some Glitches

By Thomas Cassetta from Los Angeles, CA on January 30, 2017 Music Background: Production Sound Mixer / Re-recording Mixer

If possible, I will gladly update or delete this review in place of a 5-star rating, once my concerns are addressed by Antelope's engineers.

This unit really does sound as good as the reviews state. There was a noticeable difference in my mixes, enabling me to hear detail and nuance in my noise-reduction and dialogue cleanup work that went untranslated with my previous D/A's.

The first gig on which I employed this unit translated beautifully. We used only classic tubes, ribbons, and large-diaphragm mics to record a 10-piece jazz band, all tracked live in a live room, and the results and pristine. I had plenty of headroom for the high-SPL instruments, and the pre's and converters worked wonderfully at 96KHz.

I have, however, experience issues with the internal Goliath-driven mixers not updating properly across all the outputs. Soloing doesn't always update across all outputs, and the internal mix bus, when routed to a Thunderbolt recording track AND also routed to a Line Output does not update equally across all destinations. I have communicated with Antelope about this, and expect them to respond with fixes.

Routing the audio through Pro Tools HD and other software-based mixers, while adding a tiny bit of latency, do not demonstrate the same glitches as the Goliath mixer software.

This interface is worth every penny, sounds beautiful, and offers killer I/O that will take my workflows and flexibility in the studio and in the field far into the future.
