Chauvet DJ Gobo Zoom LED 2.0

Great light and always get comments on it. Works great! I print on injet transparence in color! Really sets off the gobo in color. Only takes mins to create the gobo once you get the hang of it and the size right. The heat sink on the back seemed to get quite hot, I added a computer cooling fan and 5 volt ac to dc adaptor to power the fan. Stays nice and cool.

Easy to use Gobo Name Projector is bright and impressive

As a wedding DJ, I started getting requests for Bride & Groom name projection or Custom Gobos. I recently had bride ask me a few days before her wedding if I could provide her name and her grooms name projected on a wall at their reception. I called Christopher Geissler at Sweetwater and and he made sure I received the gobo in time for the wedding. The Gobo Zoom 2.0 is easy to set up and the dual focus controls allow for clear projection at distances up to 25'. The 2.0 unit is bright and sharp. I googled a few youtube videos for instructions on creating and printing the bride and grooms name on clear transparency paper. I just printed the design on white paper and inserted the transparency paper into my black and white copier. It printed out fine. I cut it out and placed it into the Gobo 2.0.
It's a great money maker and its easy to make your investment back quickly. Sweetwater gives me my own pro audio and lighting specialist, Chris, and he's just a phone call away. No more wasting time driving to stores. Sweetwater's prices and service make me come back again and again!

Good, but know what you're getting

I purchased one of these as a Christmas present for my church. It performs quite well for my purposes, but if you're expecting it to be able to punch through incandescent stage lighting, you're going to be disappointed. A 15W LED is bright for an LED, but it's a birthday candle compared to, say, a 500W Fresnel. From 30 feet it throws a pattern on the cyc (lit with American DJ Mega Bars) that's visible, but not overwhelming; the gobo shows up as a pastel version of the cyc color, not the stark white you'd get if you were using an incandescent ETC Source 4 as the gobo projector.

    Chauvet gobo zoom

The service at sweetwater was fantastic. The light itself could ne brighter. You couldn't make out the design of the gobo on the dance floor. Had I known that the light was crap, I would have ordered a better light. If your looking for a gobo to do weddings or partys with. Do not buy the Chauvet gobo zoom. Spend the extra $ and get a good one. You will not be happy with this light.
