    Beautiful production tool!

I used to use the guru which was the old version of geist. This is the best beat making machine I have used! It loops any sample, backwards or forwards, and you can edit the sample while the loop is playing...Basically this is the answer to making YOUR OWN BEATS , not just using loops :) It also works for making stabbing electro basslines so dont think its just a drum looper..It works with any sample you load.

I own Motu Bmp and it is a great beat making tool. I purchase Geist 2 weeks ago and I just decided to play around with it. I must say that Geist is the easiest drum sampler that I have ever used. Slicing samples and loops is a breeze. I midi mapped my Akai MPD 24 within Geist. The step sequencer is a great feature and it makes song construction effortless. The ease of Geist allow you to focus on making music and not learning to configure the program. So, overall Geist is a great alternative to NI Maschine and Motu BPM, but don't let the plain looking gui fool you because it is a great music making tool.

    worth every penny

this program is the closest thing you will to get to a mpc , believe me i have been looking for years and tried them all. the gain structure and swing adjust is the closest to the mpc beast. i love this program....worth every penny.

Great add on for Reaper, Pro tools, Etc.

Great Plug-in for sampling\Chopping & programing drums, Pairs great with programs like reaper, Pro tools, Sonar, Etc. Easy to set-up & get started with. Comes with a decent amount of drums sounds & one-shots, But this is really works better sampling in your own sounds, If you have a decent understanding of how D.a.w.'s & step sequencers work, you should have no problem with this. Interface is simple enough to understand, Fxpansion has a whole video series on the basics. Paired with a pad controller{i use a Korg Padkontrol},Geist is a great alternative to NI Maschine and Motu BPM

The actual sound of the instrument is quite good . The control you have over the sounds and the quality of the effects are great . One of the ways you program patterns is with a step sequencer or you can import loops and hits . I couldn't find a manual anywhere so despite the fact that it looks simple it's a little trickier than would think . I wish it worked a little more like pro tools for guys that read music and the tracks were more like PRO TOOLS. I ordered the CINEMATIC library and that should have been called world percussion because as a film composer I found it lacking. As far as bang for the buck GEIST is great.
