The GVT punches you in the face with the power behind the amp, the Bax EQ sculpts the already amazing tone to your desire, and the speakers just finish the entire sound off with the exact feel and vibe you need. This is an amp that really lets you feel your music. If you're looking for a product with truly perfect tone, look no further than the Ampeg GVT series of amps.
Very nice amp!
Great tone for my leads(a/b'd with a vox ac15c2, which I use for my cleans). Very versatile. 2x12s gives a really full, rich sound. Sounds amazing when the tubes are pushed to break up. Ch. 2's distortion sounds pretty good, but I prefer to keep it on ch. 1 and use my route 66 and fulltone full drive OD pedals. This amp takes pedals very very well. Love the FX loop. The only things I would change are: 1) the speakers(celestion 70/80s dont sound too good in open back cabs or combos) but after many hours cranked up they have actually broken in and sound ok. I still want to put a lead80 and a V30 in. 2) change the grill cloth to the vintage reverberocket blue style. The boost works and sounds great but since I can't change the output I just stick with my mxr micro amp. 1/2 power sounds great, no tone loss whatsoever. Amp sounds great live. It compliments my ac15 perfectly when I gig. I really wasn't expecting to love this amp as much as I do. The bax eq is great, a little touchy but I dialed in my sound pretty easily. Even though this isn't a USA made product, ampeg makes a great product and I'm excited to see with what they come out with next
