Gator GU-2217-08 WPDF Titan Series Utility Case = Just Right!
I recently purchased a couple of Gator GU -22x17x08 WPDF Titan Series Utility Cases with Diced Foam 22" - 17" x 8.2". One case protects an older Roland Handsonic digital hand percussion synthesizer with an odd shape, and the other case protects a Tascam Portastudio 32 Channel Recorder. With their diced foam cubes you can get the custom fit for whatever equipment you place in the case! Besides having a snug fit, the cases are advertised as being waterproof and dust proof. The cases look and feel extremely rugged and up to the task of providing considerable protection for most any electrical equipment you place inside them. The cases also have a pressure regulating feature when flying. These Gator Titan Waterproof Cases give me tremendous confidence and peace of mind that my equipment is well protected by these superior quality cases. I will share my thoughts about these cases to all my friends and to anyone searching for a high quality case for their equipment!

Great Case
Fantastic case for anything you want to keep secure. Well built and foam padding allows for the ability to shape fit any of your items
Solid, well padded
Bought this case for a recording mixer. Diced foam was a breeze to shape to the mixer.
During travel, this case was knocked around a bit, and dropped once. but the padding protected the mixer well, and the case was barely scuffed, can hardly see where it hit.
Glad I got this case instead of the soft-shell I was viewing.
Heavy Duty Case
The case is really rugged. I like the protection it offers. I did run into problems with the diced foam.
I called Gator to get some assistance and was on the phone with a Woman who was a senior support person who did not seem to understand the foam. She wanted pictures. I discovered that the foam does not break away depth-wise like other diced foam I'm familiar with. It is all the way through without varying depths so it makes a through hole. I think Gator should get foam that offers a depth 1/2 way through, maybe have it in 3rds. The foam is such an integral part on how your equipment is packed so that's why the emphasis!
Aside from that, the case is strong.
Poor description of internal dimensions
This is a well constructed case. The problem is that the listed internal dimensions are WITHOUT padding. The mixer I intended to use this with fits fine if I remove all the padding, a useless situation.
More like 19x15!
You would think the 22 x 17 foam pads could easily be shaped to fit a 20 x 11 pedalboard. NOT SO!
The diced part of the foam is actually about 19 x 15! The rest is "solid", i.e., non-diced, foam. So if you want a 20" pedalboard to fit, you're going to have to hack away at the foam with a blade to make it work. Say goodbye to a clean, fitted look.
Why don't I see these REAL dimensions mentioned anywhere in the specs??
