Amazing Difference!!

My Peavey 100W Valve King ii Head was sound something awful!! It was Scratchy and Trebley. Couldn't hardly get that sensitivity and Ponch Harmonics. Frankly, I thought I was going to have to replace the JB neck pickup on my Tommy Thayer model Les Paul. That is until I tried my SG and it didn't sound much better. The Valve King had a Quad set of Ruby 6L6 GCMSTR Tubes in it. Sounded good when I bought it about 4 years ago. But I gotten more into the Chunkier Metalica Heavy Metal, and this amp just wasn't cuttin' it. I knew it was well designed and the Tube Monitoring and Bias Circuit could support other versions of 6L6's as well as EL84's, without a lot of Bias Tweaking. I received this Quad set of 6L6S' today and installed them. I left the amp in "Standby" for about 20min to warm up. I then turned it on and was ready to calibrate the Bias. As I watched the LED's that Monitor the Tubes go from Red to Green, I thought "Eureka" No Bias adjustment required !! Then I started to play my Les Paul through it. It was the Hard Hitting, Chunky Sound I was looking for. Awesome Tone. Great Sensitivity with my Sweep Picking Arpeggios. And pinch harmonics at the slightest touch. GT Tubes comes through again.A few months back I put a matched pair in my Epiphone BC30. The result was the warm bluesy sound I desired that broke up about mid way. I recommend GT Tubes to anyone. They never disappoint!!

Great tubes

There is an insane amount of hype around the subject of vacuum tubes and regardless of what anyone says, most of it is purely subjective. Nevertheless, good tubes are a necessity of life. These tubes are well made, they function perfectly and are worth the price. They cleaned up and balanced the sound of my Egnater Tourmaster 4212 noticeably. An excellent investment for me.
