Note: all of the Groove Tubes tubes and sets we carry are "Mediums," or in the 4 to 7 range.

Groove Tubes has been manufacturing, importing, and grading quality power tubes for two decades. No stranger to Sweetwater, Groove Tubes founder and energy source Aspen Pittman has paid us numerous informative (and always entertaining) visits through the years. His tireless pursuit of perfect tube tone has resulted in Groove Tubes' reputation for consistency and premium quality. Want proof? Fender tube amps now include Groove Tubes as standard equipment, and true tube aficianados worldwide swear by the tubes and pro audio products Groove Tubes makes. For premium tube tone, choose Groove Tubes!

These GT-6L6GE power tubes are reissues of some classic tubes, and they feature a majority of USA components made on the original General Electric machines, with the original tools, dies, materials and processing formulas. The GT-6L6GE tubes provide stunning clarity, with tone that's reminiscent of legendary guitarists such Carl Perkins and Jimi Hendrix (both of whom mostly recorded through Fender amps in a period when the amp maker only used this tube). These prestigious tubes are sold in groups of four.

Excellent 6L6GC

I was very skeptical of these when I first noticed them. After trying and using them for a couple of years I can report these are my favorite new manufacture 6L6GC tubes. The Chinese 6L6 varieties are pretty good and this is the best of that lot.

Very good GE 6L6

For the start: I am using these in a '72 Super Reverb that I have have updated to modern standards with orange drops and metal films. I got a set of "4s" which should be a bit on the early side for distortion and this seems about right. I think I would probably go with some 5 or 6s for more clean head room. specify the number you want before ordering and sweetwater will do this for you. They seem to be true to their GE roots with a lower 25W output compared to the TAD GC's I had in before (also new, and 30W). The GT-6L6GE's are juicy glassy and brite. i think they are in a sense very true to what this amp was originally designed for. Very nice touch sensitivity. The TAD 6L6GC's rock a little harder and give a bit more volume, but in my basement ... well the lower output of the GT 6L6GE's gives me more room to operate. I think it is very important to decide where you want to be on GT's number scale. Buying a Quartet is a major decision, but remember if you are only using a duet... you Bias once and then pop in another set of tubes later without the re-biasing hassle.
