These are great

These are a really excellent 12AX7 tube. I expected an overly gainy, pushy, obnoxious Chinese 12ax7, and they are not. I found these to be very much like the Old GE 12AX7 that was ubiquitous for many years If these had the old familiar white printing on them, and the round GE logo , most players would never notice the difference.

update on gt-12ax7-M

Update on my first review. i found after listening to my bugerav22 amp the next couple days that my tube was not a mid-gain sounding tube like i thought on first days listen. it falls somewhere between mid & high gain which is fine w/ me. In v1 position is where it sounds low to mid gain to me. it has a nice sweet treble response, moreso than any of my nos & current make tubes.Plenty of treble too, not shrill at all. Still has that spongy feel to it which makes playing fun, that's one reason i rated it so highly. The touch sensitivity does not change when i try different tubes in v3-Phase invertor position either. Lotsa fun trying different tubes in Bugera v22 amp which i got from sweetwater in Feb. 2013. No probs w/ it either, took about 6hrs, 2 seperate gigs for speaker to loosen up. Key is master volume all the way up &overdrive volume on 4 to 5. Those settings kept up w/ a loud drummer & a guitarist playing thru a Twin reverb. Though I did tilt my amp back. Band members were shocked at sound.

sweet smooth & transparent

tested in v2 slot of bugerav22. have tried nos & current made 12ax7's in v1 & v2 slots. impressions: warm & touch sensitive. that makes me happy w/ my amp. medium output which makes for better control of gain sweep in bugera. am using a used rca 12ax7 in v1 & makes a good match. warmth of tube covers up clarity of sound but might be ok for taming bright amp. would buy another one cause i think its worth it. quiet & no microphonics. been playing 43 years & have excellent hearing.

Nice Tube Quality Construction

Similar to the new Genalex 12ax7 gold lion. First thing you notice is the shear weight of the tube in your hand. China has stepped their game lately.

Replacement for GE7005 -Princeton Reverb II 1983 Fender

The GT12AX sound has a crispy clean sound but do not break up as nice as the factory stock GE7005. the GT 12AT7 in V3 Greatly improved Reverb. The GT tubes are slightly noisy but not noted when amp is cranked. The GT Kit which consists of 2 matched GT 12 AX7 are a couple dollars more and I do not hear any difference. I took the GT 12AX7 in the V1 and replaced it with my old GE7005. MY FENDER AMP ROCKS!
