This Compact Guitar Is Ready to Plug In

Looking for Taylor quality in a small-sized guitar? The Taylor GS Mini-e RW acoustic-electric guitar gives you Taylor construction and sound in a compact package. Modeled after the popular Grand Symphony body style, the GS Mini-e RW is a portable guitar that has surprised us at Sweetwater with its big sound. Typically we expect small sounds from small guitars, but thanks to the luthiers at Taylor, the GS Mini-e RW bucks that trend. The Sitka spruce top, layered Indian rosewood back and sides, and ebony fingerboard give the GS Mini-e RW a rich and full sound you will love. And with the built-in ES2 electronics, the GS Mini-e RW is ready for plugged-in performances too!

Ultra-portable acoustic

Taylor's award-winning GS Mini-e RW is a scaled-down version of their ever-popular Grand Symphony guitar shape. With a total length of just over 36", the GS Mini-e RW is a guitar you can easily pack in any vehicle, haul on the subway, or even stow in overhead compartments on planes. Perfect for camping, festivals, or just hauling long distances, the GS Mini-e RW is a compact guitar with big tone that can go everywhere you go.

Taylor's Expression System 2 delivers incredibly natural sound with full dynamics

Traditionally, acoustic-electric guitars have employed under-saddle piezo transducers, but Taylor goes about it a bit differently. Their Expression System 2 uses a proprietary pickup behind the saddle. The pickup's three individually calibrated, precisely positioned piezo-electric sensors respond organically to the instrument's acoustic energy as it's transferred through the saddle. In concert with Taylor's custom-designed preamp (which delivers a 25% hotter signal), the result is a natural acoustic sound with incredible dynamic range and responsiveness to your pick or finger attack. Sweetwater's guitar gurus are mightily impressed with Taylor's Expression System 2. Whether you're onstage through a PA, plugged into an acoustic amp, or direct into recording software, the ES2 faithfully conveys the voice of a Taylor guitar.

Quality construction and materials

Taylor has a reputation for quality guitars and materials and the GS Mini-e RW is no exception. This model features a real Sitka spruce top and laminate Indian rosewood back and sides. Both woods are durable and produce great tone. The spruce top has a bright, articulate sound with excellent note definition. The laminate Indian rosewood back and sides of the GS Mini-e RW deliver a great rich tone while adding durability and stability to the guitar. The ebony fretboard and bridge offer great tone and even more stability to this amazing little guitar.

Taylor GS Mini-e RW Acoustic-electric Guitar Features:
  • Scaled-down Grand Symphony guitar with big sound
  • Solid Sitka spruce top
  • Layered Indian rosewood back and sides
  • Ebony fretboard and bridge
  • Short 23.5" scale length
  • Built-in ES2 electronics system for great plugged-in tone
The Taylor GS Mini-e RW is a compact and great sounding acoustic guitar.

Great Guitar

I just purchased a Taylor GS Mini - eRW for my wife. I gave it to her on Christmas (2016) and she loves it! Great sound / tome and she loves the (mini) size. I have to give a shout out to Sweetwater and especially Chris Neyman, who guided me through the process and hung with me as I delayed (and delayed) my decision. The guitar came as promised and was packaged very securely. I would recommend Sweetwater to anyone wanting to purchase a quality guitar from a company with great customer service. Thank you!!

Highly recommend

Great sounding, easy to play travel guitar. Got this to replace a damaged Little Martin Ed Scheeren model. This one sounds like a guitar and not uke. Love it!

Reviews are right on target! THANKS

I have been tinkering for years with my 70's era Epiphone never really making progress as it is bulky and difficult to play.Just received my Taylor Mini-e RW with Spruce...All I can say is WOW!!!Wish I had jumped for this purchase much sooner. So easy to handle and play...I am amazed!Thank You to all that wrote the other reviews.

It's my first Taylor guitar ever, Ive been looking to buy an acoustic for a long time but couldn't find the right one for me. One day while in GC I grabbed this small Taylor and when I played it, I was blown away!!! I couldn't believe the sound that was coming out of this thing!!! I Immediately fall in love with not only the size but also the sound and clarity. I use it for Sunday Services and every time I play it, people tell me "it looks so small that I couldn't believe it, I love it" ...

Taylor GS Mini e Rosewood

Great guitar. It sounds as good as any of my larger guitars. Very comfortable to play and very handy to carry around. Recommended!
