check the dates on the reviews

The preceding reviews were from 8-9 years ago. They should be removed and replaced with more up to date reviews. Since Gator has redesigned this unit and it is considerably . I always tell people check your sources and dates. Seems like this site is being run like Zuckerberg's facebunk....lol It's a great case. I actually have two both with a Legacy-3 head, pwr supply, wireless setup and Art 8 channel hum eliminators. For my stereo axe rigs...much easier to move around this way and way safer for the gear.

Nice case! Has awkward open space at bottom though

It's a nice sturdy case with decent locks for the front and back covers. The wheels are very smooth as long as the ground isn't too bumpy.

I give it 3.5 stars though because of the ugly looking blank space at the bottom. I understand the need for extra space for the pullout handle and wheels, but the design could have been better to hide this space. I brought home a 2U blank rack panel, but it won't fit because of the aluminum rail at the very bottom. I'm going to have to chop this perfectly good blank panel just to make it fit, and even then it can only be held with the two top screws. This space could have easily been closed in by extending the width of the bottom rail to come up to the bottom of the last rack space.

The rack could also benefit from some bit of extra storage with a removable zipper pouch or snap box for accessories. I'll probably find a large pouch and glue it to the inside of one of the lids.

You get what you pay for...

Alright, this guy gets a 3.5 star rating from me because of a couple details. First of all, it's a nice, sturdy, 8U case. It rolls pretty well and you can even put stuff on top of it. Now that the pluses are out of the way, the truth can be told. The unit has excess spacing at the top and bottom of the rack rails, which makes it look less...clean for lack of a better term. The real problem I have though, in fact the only reason I'm even reviewing this product, is the lock. Now obviously, it's not going to be a state of the art security measure, but that being said, I didn't expect the darned thing to just pop out. I found a little luggage lock lying next to my computer one day and much to my surprise, it was from my Gator case. Point being, if the lock is a selling point for you, (first of all, that's shouldn't be one) don't get this guy.
