I am in my seventies and I wanted a three quarters size guitar to play while leaning back in my LaZboy. I figured for a hundred and fifty bucks why not take a chance on this guitar. I am just blown away on how nice this guitar is.

BEST BANG for the Buck$!

I bought a lefty version of this axe, and WHY was the short scale 22.2" and its 3/4 size, plus 24 frets. It has Hoshino medium frets exact size of old 50's Gibson jumbo frets on old Les Pauls at .106" x .039" so it's not the usual huge jumbo size like Dunlop 6100's on modern axesOverall it's pro quality that was better than costly high end custom axes I've had costing thousands. (Hamer/Gus/Conklin/Gibson)The stock pickups are ceramic humbuckers a bit dark but because this is short scale a standard E tuning is too loose and will sound dark and muddy.I uptuned it to F# and hit the sweet spot.I did mod the neck using steel wool sanding pads anyone can get in a 3 pack at Walmart for $3 bucks going rough to fine. I took it down 3mm to a Wizard III contour.I put EMG Red Series pickups in it that cost far more than the lefty version at $179 bucks. The body wood is Poplar more dense than Ash or Alder or Basswood. It works great! The Ibanez short scale bass body is warm Mahogany. I bought a bass to go with this axe.I LOVE this axe. It's great for beginners and short people or people with injuries who can't play longer scale axes comfortably.I highly recommend it! It's a blast to shred on!
