Review: The Gator GR-4L (4 Rack Spaces)
The Gator GR-4L is more than adequate when it comes to protecting your expensive equipment.
There is, however, one drawback. When the rack is on a flat surface (or stacked on other Gator racks) there is no clearance to remove the front or back cover. This is because these covers use hinges, at the bottom, to mount the covers to the rack housing. So to disengage these two-piece hinges you must either lift the rack up, slide it forward to clear any flat surface it is placed on or use the rack upside-down. This last option is of no use if several racks are stacked.
