Guild's Celebrated Westerly, Now Available as a Lefty!

To all you southpaws who are looking for a quality acoustic-electric for under a grand - this Guild OM-140CE is for you. Guild's best-selling Westerly acoustic series pays tribute to Guild's golden-era flat tops with some exciting vintage specs, like a midsized Orchestra body, a classic Guild C-shaped neck, and some 1960s period-correct appointments. The Guild OM-140CE boasts a bold dreadnought voice, with a comfortable cutaway that opens up the upper frets to high capo'ing and lead picking. The solid Sitka soundboard is a perfect pairing for the African mahogany body and sides, which produce a sweet, balanced tone together that works for strumming to fingerpicking. And for live players, the Westerly's discreet Fishman Sonitone pickup pushes a high-output, natural sound you can run into an acoustic amp or your venue's PA.

Guild Acoustics: a heritage built on great woods and features

Solid Sitka spruce and solid mahogany combine in a midsized Orchestra body to grant the Guild OM-140CE the platonic ideal of the acoustic guitar tone: bold, woody, shimmery, harmonic, and versatile. But if tone alone is not enough to stir your passions, this Guild's appointments will. A bone nut and saddle, a vintage-correct red tortoiseshell pickguard, and Guild's iconic 1960s Chesterfield headstock emblem make the OM-140CE a true beauty for the stage and your guitar room.

Fishman Sonitone electronics capture the Westerly's natural acoustic voice

This Westerly acoustic is equipped with the Fishman Sonitone pickup system, which delivers great-sounding, high-output amplification for the stage and studio. The Sonitone system puts volume and tone controls directly in the soundhole for easy access, and for a look that won't detract from your guitar's natural beauty. For a plugged-in tone you can trust, Sweetwater guitarists recommend Fishman.

Engineered for a comfortable playing experience

The OM-140CE's clean playability will help channel all your creative ideas into beautiful music. Seasoned players will notice right away the OM-140CE's slinky string action all along the 25.5"-scale-length C-shaped neck. The 1-3/4" nut width spaces out strings suitably for strumming, flatpicking, or fingerstyling, with a good amount of real estate between all strings that neither feels cramped nor causes you to reach uncomfortably.

Guild OM-140CE Westerly Acoustic-electric Guitar Features:
  • A solid lefty for under a grand
  • The quintessential acoustic tone: bold, dynamic, woody, and versatile
  • Quality midsize Orchestra body is made from solid Sitka spruce and African mahogany
  • Elegant cutaway provides access to upper frets for capo'ing and lead work
  • Vintage-profiled C-shaped neck with Indian rosewood fingerboard plays comfortably

Great Guitar!!

I was really pleased with this guitar and it blew away my old acoustic electric. It has a great tone to it and the neck feels great which was a major problem with my old one. I would recommend this guitar to anyone.

OM-140LCE - Thumbs Up!

I needed a backup guitar for traveling. I wanted something that was solid wood construction with a 1-3/4" nut that wouldn't break the bank. What I found was an acoustic-electric under $1000 with a cut-out and really nice appointments. And a sweet sound. The neck is incredibly easy to play and my first performance with it went really welI. I'm a left handed player and the choices are limited but the OM-140LCE offered more than I was looking for. The OM body is smaller than I'm used to playing but turned out to be really comfortable to play and carry. I would highly this guitar for someone looking for a quality brand, extra features reserved for higher priced guitars and a price point that makes it a hard to pass on.
