Great

By James Paramore from Georgia on August 25, 2017

Received my Takamine today. Very fast shipping, excellent packaging. Only some minor adjustments to the tuning, action was set perfect. Guitar looks and plays great. The electronics sound great through my Fender Super Champ on the acoustic setting. Thanks.

Excellent First (Real) Guitar

As an experienced musician, but a fairly new guitarist, I can confidently say this instrument was a great choice. Price was low and quality is high, and I'm really enjoying practicing and recording with the new addition to my collection.

Above average sound in a budget guitar

I must say, the experience of purchasing this instrument sure made me a believer in the Sweetwater reputation! Great price, top of the line tech help, the very best service....nice! Delivery was very quick, too.
This acoustic/electric was to be a poor man's back up for small live shows, one I could cart about and practice on. When I pulled this Takamine out of the box, it was close to tuned. Had no problem tuning it with those stock strings, and after a bit of string bendin', it stayed in tune...like for quite a while. It's a nice looking acoustic, had a quality build at that price. Body and neck was tight all around, and the ease in changing strings with this bridge is a nice touch. A pretty decent beginner guitar that is made to last and sounds good. I plugged it in to a favorite guitar modeler with some basic pre-sets I like. It's a reliable way to test the tonal boundaries of a guitar and I was surprised this acoustic was holding things so tight. The tonal type knob on the pre-amp worked pretty well on the high end, and even mid's were "there"... but too much low available ALL the time, if not careful. No hum and weird noise, nice and quiet. The latch cover holding in the battery must fit tight, or the electronics will drop out suddenly. Had to fiddle about with that for a bit, but no problems since. All in all, a pretty sharp guitar that sounds warm and full, is easy to play, and a good deal for under $300.
