Traditional design and construction

The Cordoba GK Studio doesn't skimp on construction. The GK Studio features traditional handmade classical guitar design, including the solid European spruce top with Spanish-style fan bracing. Fan bracing is preferred for flamenco guitars over lattice bracing, allowing the guitar's top to vibrate more freely while still providing evenly balanced tone.

Premium tonewoods

While the Cordoba GK Studio is inexpensive, Cordoba did not sacrifice quality materials. The Cypress back and sides set a powerful tonal foundation for the solid European spruce top, giving you the right balance of warmth and brightness. The neck is solid mahogany, for maximum transfer of string energy to the spruce top. A rosewood fingerboard and Indian rosewood bridge complete the elegant look.

Great look, great playability

The Cordoba GK Studio is gorgeous to simply look at, from the detailed hand-inlayed rosette and Indian rosewood binding to the gold/black tuners with ebony buttons. And you'll love how the gloss finish shows off the Cypress body and European spruce top. But looks aren't everything, the GK Studio was designed with playability in mind, and the great look is just the icing on the classical cake.

great guitar

This guitar is exactly what I was looking for. Great action, great for recording. It has both a Mic and a transducer in the guitar. You can blend the amount of Mic you want to use. This makes the guitar sound great for recordings. If live u get feedback just lower Mic and the transducer will do the work.

GK Studio is a true work horse

I own a few expensive guitars and when playing out I wanted a guitar that would be playable, sound good, feel good, and look good, and I would not have to worry about someone bumping into my guitar. This guitar looks great and the Fishman blend mic and pickup sound good I have the mic on 10-15%. I run the guitar to a wirless or straight to my Bose Tone Match. Very minimal set up. I play a lot of the Nuevo Flamenco style and this guitar works great. The neck is a bit narrower I wish Cordoba would do a 52-53mm at the nut. The solid top sounds great and workmanship is really something of a marvel at this price point. Great for outdoor gigs too. Thanks Cordoba.

Great value

I always wait after the honeymoon period to write a review. I got this guitar about 3 month ago and still very much enjoy it. Here are a few things to keep in mind about this guitarFlamenco guitars, especially the "blanca" type like this GK Studio are not as warm sounding but brighter and more percussive than a regular classical guitar. They also tend to cut through the mix better and have a great note definition. If I only played Bach, that's not what I would buy.I changed the strings for D'Addario heavy tension strings and it sounded much better than the stock strings. I also had to adjust the truss rod to straighten the neck as it was buzzing like crazy when I received it. Only do that if you know what you are doing. The construction and the woods are outstanding. If you are an expert player, a professional fret leveling/polishing would make it even better as the frets are a bit rough. However the action is low and a small buzz when hitting the strings hard is quite normal for a flamenco guitar.I love the preamp and the amplified sound. I play in a Flamenco duo and the other player has a custom made guitar which in my opinion does not sound as good as the GK Studio when plugged (dont tell him I said that). For its small sized body this guitar is insanely loud when unplugged. As it should be for a flamenco guitar the solid top is quite thin. Great for sound bad for feedback at amplified high volume or if you decide to use this guitar to defend yourself in a bar fight. What decided me on this guitar were Cordoba's awesome Youtube videos with Ben Woods. I was not desappointed, I own close to 15 nice guitars and basses and tend to reach out to this one very often.I also love the look of this guitar and the tap plates. All in all, that's a lot of guitar for the money and it will please any performer without the stress of lugging around an expensive instrument. Last but not least, mine is the left handed version and I am very grateful to Cordoba for making a lot of their instruments available to lefties.

Nice quality

I give this guitar a 4 because it is a nice guitar. However, it does lack the warmth that is found in a traditional classical guitar. Other than that, it is my pal and is perfect with smaller gigs, especially with the use of preamps to warm up the sound and take off some of the "edge" the bright top produces. Hope this helps!
