I love my rosewood fingerboard Grainger - enough to get her maple-fingerboard sister. Other than my wife... these are the prettiest girls I've ever seen. This one sings with a little glassier tone than the rosewood, but like any pair of sisters, I really don't dare rate one over the other. They are different, but not so much that one can't sub for the other. Beautiful tone, and like all of the U.S.-made PRS axes, both models are built with impeccable mechanical design (straight-pull from tuning head to high-lubricity nut, solid well-finished bridge combine for superior ability to stay in tune), strong, quick and comfortable neck. The pickups combined with the 18v electronics are unreal. The larger strings are taper-wound... new tech to this old man... Even the big B is SOLID check out Gary Grainger and Paul Reed Smith on youtube doing an interview and demo of the same bass with rosewood fingerboard. I wanna play like Gary when I grow up :) Ryan Wiltermood is my sales guy - He is a great help to me, a careful listener and straight shooter.
