The Bogner Goldfinger 54 Phi gives players he ease of a single-channel amp with a truck load of tone shaping possibilities. WOW!
First off let me just say I'm not easily impressed when it come to amplifiers. I own many holy grail amps, so it takes something particularly special to wow me. I was intrigued by the concept of the Bogner Goldfinger Phi head. One amp to cover all the bases? Sign me up right? But that is not always the case when we buy gear. All new gear promises to fill voids and give new inspiration. Yet often disappoints. This amp with its power selection switching and output staging really had me excited! But I did have my concerns. Now back to the Bogner. The Goldfinger Phi Head and Standard Birch Goldfinger cab. Which is truthfully designed for the GF SL head. But Sweetwater Couldn't get the Phi Pine cab (not a problem though). Running only half power to this cab has left me Giddy and Euphoric From the Magnitude of tones you can get from this set up and even running this at on 33w max at half power is beyond club capable. LOUD! Now for the sounds, and what sounds they are! 40-60's cheap amp sounds? Check. 50's Fender tweed sounds? Yup she's got them too. Fender Blackface tone? Why of course! Then a flip of a switch and a turn of a knob, Poof ….Plexi! Now I run pedals and I can get literally anything from this amp! It truly is an amazing pro platform that conforms to you. And consistent. I admit I am now a lifelong Bogner guy.

I have made this my main rig now. The Jubilee and JVM are always going to have their special place in my sound but once I added a Friedman BE OD in front of the goldfinger there was denying I had access to every genre in front of me.
I have played many vintage fenders and this is some of the sweetest cleans I have heard. Do not stay on the fence to long about this amp.
This is an incredible amp
Wow. No, double wow. This amp is a tone machine! 6L6 or 6V6 or both! The reverb adds a hint of delay at higher settings and is very unique at all settings. The Bax switch is a bit of the future in tone selection. All of the features on this amp were thought ought to the max. I am so pleased to have this amp and the sounds that it can provide. I could say more but I am speechless. What a inspired amp> Bogner did good.
