Mahogany provides rich, warm tones

If your acoustic guitar is frequently your entire backing band, then you're going to feel right at home with a Guild D-120CE acoustic guitar. Its mahogany back and sides provide exceptional richness and powerful bass that leaves plenty of space for your vocals. And its mahogany top adds a warm air to its sound. It is a mid-focused tonewood with a very balanced tonality in the highs and lows. And beacuse it fills a unique sonic spot in any band or recording, all-mahogany acoustics are quickly gaining in popularity.

Dreadnought body style

The powerful voice and unrivaled projection of the traditional dreadnought body style has made it the choice of strummers and flatpickers throughout history. The naturally deep lows and crisp highs of Guild's dreadnought body help to balance the D-120CE's tone across the full sonic spectrum, giving you a sound that lends itself equally well to traditional bluegrass and folk as it does to modern acoustic rock. If you're looking for a guitar that can handle agressive picking and driving rhythms, you're going to love the D-120CE.

Discreet Fishman Sonitone pickup system

Fishman and Guild are two of the most respected names in the acoustic guitar industry. And Guild's quest for quality is why they chose to offer Fishman's Sonitone pickup system in the D-120CE. The Sonitone system offers the rich acoustic tone of your D120CE through any amplifier or PA. And the design of the Sonitone system is discreet. The controls are accessed via the sound hole, so you won't have to deal with the hassles that side-mounted preamps can sometimes cause in other guitars.

Guild D-120CE Acoustic-electric Guitar Features:
  • Classic dreadnought acoustic-electric guitar
  • Fishman Sonitone pickup system
  • Wide tonal range from an all-solid mahogany construction
  • Solid top will enhance in tone as the guitar ages
  • Slim neck and 16" radius for fast, smooth playability
  • Cutaway offers great higher-fret access
The Guild D-120CE delivers all-mahogany tones in a great-playing acoustic-electric.

Outstanding value

I took delivery of a red D-120ce in June of 2016 and it immediately became my favorite. Mellow, full bodied sound, amplifies well, easy to fret, and a joy to play. A friend of mine, who has been playing for over 50 years, always wants to borrow it when we get together. Oh well, it gives me a chance to play his Martin D-45.

Very Pleased

The sound is just what I expected if not better, the finish is great ! I really went over it with a fine tooth comb because of one of the reviews here , mine is perfect , absolutely beautiful. The playability is great and this baby just plays ! The service was great from sweetwater , everyone was helpful . This guitar is the most expensive I have ever owned , but compared to the other guitars being played at church it isn't . Sounds every bit as good as the Martins And Taylors and that is saying a lot they fine guitars. This guild will play with them . Just cant say enough !
Music background: 30 years playing , never know enough

It's a Guild

Sounds as good as any guitar on the market, better than some, no matter what the price. And the strings are spaced to fit my fingers as with my Guild orchestra style. Also a beautiful finish on a great looking guitar.
Music background: 58 yrs. playing rock, country and gospel

Guild Keeps up the tradition of a quality product

Hey Sweetwater, received my Guild D-120CE faster than it took me to make up my mind to purchase one! The quality put into making it is excellent! The sound has a warm clean effect to it and easy to play. I am glad I invested in this guitar and looking to a life long playing experience with it.

Inspect

Both the original and replacement had humps in the neckjoint. Be sure to inspect if you buy one of these guitars because there's a bad lot. Lucky me got two of them. This is a huge inconvenience by Sweetwater is a quality seller and will take care of me. I wish I could give a positive review of this guitar as I'm a fan of Guild Westerly RI - my hometown. These two guitars were very disappointing.
